Loading Tileset
How exactly do you load a custom tileset into the Graal Level editor? I've always used the original tileset for my levels, so I never learned how. Any help?
(And be sure to explain it well if you would, I'm a bit slow to new things.) |
ok go into your graal folder, get into your tiledefs folder. than find the tiledefs text document for whichever server's tiles you want, open it up, copy all of the data, than open your offlinetiledefs text doccument (located in the same folder) and paste all of the data in.
this should work, it is what i did to get the era tileset on my editor. |
I used addtiledef... And so does my brother and it works fine for him, He is LAT on era.. :)
addtildef picsname,levelname.nw,1; |

what he is giving you there is a script and it needs to go in a NPC in the level so basicly make a NPC (the outline of a guy) double click it, and then paste the addtildef blah blah blah into it |
I replace the graal pics1.png with EoA's tileset
XD true, I then have to use EoA's tileset on classic servers, but I think it just makes them look better :P |

I have a addtiledef2 tileset tutorial in the GFX Section. It is in the tutorials thread.
Here is the link though.... http://forums.graal2001.com/forums/s...threadid=47038 |

If you mean End of Ages', then awsome :D [ramble] In a week or 2, we will upload a version, with our custom water, and sand tiles (so they match the grass better) so try logging into EoA in about 2 weeks (delete your current eoa_tiles_normal.png, to make sure the newest one loads) and then you can use that :) The tileset works fairly well as pics1.png, exept just a few glitches... like, those blue house insides do not transfer over as nicely.... and the caves look scrambled, because we did not place ours in the same order as the classic ones (because our cave tyles are a different style) also, there is a bug if they use backpals I think... but not too many places use them anyways. umm... yea o.o *goes back to working on his server* we'll try to get ready for the hosted tab ASAP... should be on there in 2 weeks, if everything goes right... BUT, we'll only have the events overworld public... but there's still a ton of stuff to do there, and we might let players test new NPC's and stuff ;) [/ramble] |
Yeah, I'll be using the End of Ages tileset. Didn't know the server was that close to being public.
EDIT: I loaded the tileset using addtiledef, with the 1 at the end. Doesn't work with the 1 there, so I strongly suggest using 0. |

This might help you.
Also, no we are not even close to going public. We have a long way to go. |

I said we'd allow people on the EVENTS overworld :P our events area is very well developed (thanks to prince dark) with great events/games/prizes  but as for the main overworld, we still have a little level work to do, and there is still a lot of content that needs to be added  so it might be a few months till we go fully public... but it'll be worth the wait ;) |
*points to tutorials sticky* It's in there, bud.
|
I'll log on and check it out :-).
Post it on here or something? |
Ah, looks as though I read it wrong.
Only problem with the tileset is the bushes just look awkward to me. And Haunter, that wasn't neccesary. |
What are you talking about? It was completely neccesary. He wanted to know how to use custom tilesets... Mmmmkay's FAQ explains how. Very well I might add.
