Screenshot Evidence
I think that there should be a way to take a whole screenshot of the entire screen for evidence like if someone was hacking and then a ton of water marks are added through out the entire image to proove that it is a real unedited screenshot

Perhaps a watermark and a new filetype(does this cost money?)? It would still be possible to forge the screenshots, but it would require a program to do so...

Best idea, a screenshot in a new file format that can only be viewed through some viewer thing in RC and when you're logged on RC.

I think that would be impossible I would think, to make it so only one program can open that file type. Someone with some C++ knowledge can just make a program to read the file, right?

And why not an encrypted screenshot transmitted directly to the abuse team through the game protocol that is directly handled by the game engine ? :)

Because then people would hax0r the system and send trojans directly to Unixmad. :)

Shhhh ;)

I suggest serverside screenshots.

But if a group of people (say 10-20) got on and constantly sent the images to the rc.. everyones rc would crash and they wouldnt be able to find out who sent them unless the server would log their accounts (and possibly crash?). Also trial attacks towards playerworlds would be more damaging to graal than trainers unless trials couldn't send these types of screenshots.
Maybe each server that wanted a watermark could get their own custom one that would be uploaded by a global admin. When the player pesses the button for the screenshot the client would call for the watermark to be added to screenshot on the fly. Then the image would be added to the clients computer. Also the watermarks would be changed monthly to prevent the forging of watermarks and to make forging more harder the watermarks should cover just about the entire screen with text aswell as images and some unnoticeable (sp?) parts that only staff could know about? |

In general, though, you're right about the sending directly to RC. Big hazard. I like the idea of only readable through RC, though. (I love topics where you can be completely irrational) |
