Sanstrata tileset preview
 

Well yes it has been a while since I have said anything about Sanstrata. This will be probably the last preview for a long time people bug me enough about my servers progress on aim and I dont want more people buging me. We are working and we are not dead just to let you know. This is the tileset so far. Please note that the water tiles and cliff to water tiles will be animated ingame and are already made. Also I have friends of mine I have save copys of my tileset and other files so dont worry the tileset will not be lost.

We are not hiring. Meaning we have all the staff we need. But if your really talanted or something or just want to know where you stand feel free to ask me for a job Ill give you the time of day.

(Incase anyones wondering there are 488 grass tiles. Its about as close to totally seamless as you can get ;).)

Ok heres the tileset at 1/2 I'm not showing it at full I'm too paranoid.

You know when you go public everybody will have to download the tileset right? -_-;;

No I got it all planned so its saved and downloaded and used as a filetype called .doom and no one can access the file except stalin.., Yes I know that I just dont want to show the full tileset now because Its too soon and someone might try to copy/steal thats all.

I understand that, but if you show everyone your stuff now then you have proof you made it and can get the copier in trouble. I mean look what happend to Tyrial. He got his face photoshopped onto a cereal box.

Yes but Tyrial didn't copy oasis and thats not the point. My servers not ready yet and I dont want to show the tiles yet.

I like it but all I can see so far is cliff tiles :(

Never said that Tyrial copied anything, but since he was accused everybody backed up koni on anything that looked similar to koni. I wont bother going any further if you can't comprehend what I'm trying to say.

Couldnt everyone just enlarge the image by 50% and fix it up to steal it?

Not really there is a huge detail loss.

Ive had to agrue almost every god damn time I made a thread about Sanstrata on why it is going to be "Sanstrata" and not some totally different server. I'm really tired right now so just know this, there will be alot of things about it that will make it Sanstrata and not some totally different server ok...

Bah. Face it, no matter what you do to the server, no matter how good it looks, it's not -the- Sanstrata. It's just another server that happens to have Sanstrata in it's name. Thats how I look at it anyway :rolleyes:

Exactly.
It could be the best server out yet, but there would still be a lot of people disappointed because it doesn't have the 'Sanstrata Feel' or whatever.

O.o to have the sanstrata feel back, we would need 98% of the staff abusing powers, and 100% of the players abusing bugs. <3 prozac for those btw.

i disagree... sanstrata had a complete transformation how many times while it was up? 4 or 5? SO by giving you something completly diffrent that may have no resemblance to the original from what you remember AT ALL, we're staying in line with everything sanstrata stood for :D

I was only there for test server and the first "new" sanstrata.

I told you once and I tell you a second god damn time!! IT WILL HAVE THE SANSTRATA FEEL AND THERE WILL BE MANY THINGS ABOUT IT THAT WILL MAKE IT LIKE THE REAL SANSTRATA!! STOP ACTING AS IF I BULL ****ING YOU!

(This is another reason why I dont like making threads about Sanstrata because the people cant understand why it is sanstrata untill they see it and that may be a while.)

We will we havent come this far to just give up now =D. Alarid has already written about 8 pages on the systems and game play and stuff and hes no where near done so dont worry ;).

Donald, it is not possible to protect your graphics.
If Graal can open them so can I. Changing file extensions wont stop that many people, as they are easily changed again.

I was able to magnify your 1/2 size tileset and still have ok detail, enough for someone easily recongize it. You are wasting time trying to stop people from stealing it.

Donald, you can't give it a Sanstrata feel. Sanstrata died and almost 100% of server revivals never work out because they don't have that feel. You can't substitute that feel. You can't emulate it. I'm not telling you to stop working, I'm not telling you to change the name either. I'm telling in advance that when that server comes out, people WILL NOT consider it the Sanstrata we knew in the past.

Keep that in mind.

People tell me that alot, the funny thing is though I do understand your point. You trying to tell me that people dont think its the real old sanstrata and I'm trying to tell you that they will. You will just have to wait and see.

Unless the same people that used to play there, start playing there again, it won't be the same. No matter how close you make it to the original thing.
