Fish

Please remove the need to have specific coloured fish for specific dishes on GK... It's really annoying to have to hunt down the right coloured fish for whatever you want to make... :(

Satrek2000 02-05-2004 10:21 AM

Then why not remove the need to have different sorts of vegetables to make the meals? Maybe because it's part of the diversity and fun, if you handle it right ;)

I disagree with ya Haunter but possibly for a different reason. I'm assuming the reason you made this thread was because you can't find the red sushi fish which isn't even obtainable right now. How about a) they remove that dish or b) add the fish.

Satrek2000 02-05-2004 05:57 PM

I think it would work if Sushi would give 400 food, and the fish became an event item... or it's just added, plain and simple...

Thak2 02-05-2004 10:04 PM

The sushi fish exist, just are uncatchable for some reason. D:

Is it hard to fix that, or what?

Borgie 02-05-2004 10:32 PM

yea they swim arround events island.. somewhere north...
but well, like starek said, they are uncatchable >.<
they are kalled "koifisch"... at least in the german version (funny, cuz these fish are not edible as far as i know O.o )

Don't have you have to remove all the testines and blood from that fish, else you'll die a gruesome death when eating it?

No. Koifish are the big ornage, white, yellowish fish you see in people's ponds. Basically an over sized goldfish.

The fish you are talking about is the "blowfish" or "pufferfish" I think. If not cooked correctly the posion will paralyze you instantly and seriously fawk up your head resulting in death soon afterwards.
Edit: I've actually had that fish before and when you bite into the meat it tingles. It has to be cooked for a certain amount of time to cook away most of the posion and the rest of the posion is what makes your mouth tingle. It kinda gives a buzz if you ask me, its weird.

I've caught ONE before... The thing is, there aren't that many fish around to begin with... some near Hotaru, some around the event island... I think there are some near Santerrain(sp)... Perhaps there is just a need for more fish all together. :)

What we need is a more balanced population ;) Nothing wrong with some fish being less rare than others, but they should not refuse the hook, in that case, as they do now...

Splke 02-06-2004 08:43 AM

That pink fish is not there... Guranteed... fished for 10-12 hours and got 200 of everyfish, But that one... also, note, I went to every fishing spot -.-

haunter 02-07-2004 04:53 AM

Another thing concerning food... Salt... Salt is quite hard to get, since you can only buy it in shops, sometimes you have to buy completely useless things just to get the salt to pop up on the table... I think there should be some alchemical formula to get "Salt" Or perhaps a way to get it from the sea water. :)

--Chris-- 02-07-2004 07:14 AM

Salt can't even be eaten on GK from what I recall and is a basic material both there and real life..there isn't really a recipe for salt. Salt is just extracted from sea water X_x

No, you shouldn't go around eating salt. But it's used in making jerky... Very tasty! And there should be pretzels :-x But there are also such a thing as salt mines... And yes, you can create salt with an alchemical formula (artificially). You just need the right reaction with Sodium and Chloride...

But I would like to see either salt mine-able or the ability to get salt from sea water. :)

Thak2 02-07-2004 10:34 AM

I make jerky all the time, because it is very light to carry even large amounts, and fairly good eating. :)

They should just make a small salt mine, like stick a few minable rocks in the Yoda Cave or something.

Satrek2000 02-07-2004 03:10 PM

Just increase the salt-supplies in the shops...

Borgie 02-08-2004 10:43 PM

i got about 50 in like 30 minutes...
still i like the salt mines idea :D

--Chris-- 02-08-2004 10:49 PM

*shrug* If things like this were to be broken down that much on Graal then people would start wanting everything else to me >_> It's fine the way it, buy from alchemy shops...you can get loads in 10 minutes. I dunno..maybe they should put it in some recipes and make it eatable, it'll only require a (food+#) stat ;x

Nidonemo 02-18-2004 12:50 PM
