Name Issues
 

As many of you may know I have been working on a playerworld named Metroplois. Recently I found someone willing to host my server on their payed for playerworld space.

I forum PMed spark about changing the name to Metropolis about 2 weeks later I see someone has stolen my name and I have just gotten screwd out of all my hard work. Im not saying it was a big original name but I think I came up with it before they did.

So PROJECT METROPOLIS HAS NO RELATION WHAT-SO-EVER TO THE HOSTED PLAYERWORLD METROPOLIS . And I am very dissapointed with spark...

Don't be dissapointed in Sparkie, he is just doing his job, the other people paid for the playerworld they can name it whatever they wish, they beat you to the punch, talk it out with the manager or rename your playerworld.

Yeah... it wasn't stolen. It's not like it was a unique name, and they can't steal something you didn't own. Now if your server's name was metropolis, and they got a server named metr0polis, I'd be understanding.

But you didn't in fact, have a server up at the time, named Metropolis. You could claim that with any server that's online right now. (that they stole your name) Like someone could say "oh my god, konidias took the name Oasis for his server! that was the name of my playerworld project! he stole it from me!"

Can't you just call it something similar? Metropolis World...World Metropolis...Metropolis City....Legend of Metropolis.... x.x

I will talk to them about it, but as people have said it isn't stolen and you can have similar names.

I didn't know you invented the world Metropolis. dude, you rock.

Well it isn't spark's fault like G-B said, hey btw :-)!. Did you book the name for a starter?

but it really depends on when that other PW got accepted...
Because they could have been accepted like a week before you sent that forum PM... but they didn;t get online till a week after you sent it.

I am not going to "rename my server" it is the principle of the thing. I Forumed pm spark about a month ago (asking him to change the name) and no replies. Then I log on RC and see a server with the name I had requested. The LEAST he could have done was tell me that they had already requested the name before I. Also It give a bad name to my project I loged on the server guess what another era rip. well here a screen of what my server could have been. This is at stage one early development alot of change was in store for this.

I reply to every forumPM I get, and read them.
There must have been a problem because I never got that PM, anyway I will still ask them. And I couldn't have told you anything as I didn't even know you were online, and then names aren't reserved so I can't as such.

As was the first steam locomotive, patented by Mr. Watt, while it was invented by his ex-collegue :S

Names names names... So you wont change the name as it is the role around your entire server.

So talk to them.

Well most fo all I hate the fact that my playerworld name is being
mis-represented. Log on there and you will see what I mean it looks like era put through the blender and injected so full of psp7 filters and textures, that you can't even tell whats going on.

A lot of playerworlds look like Era.

Which means that they all suck...

As someone said before maybe they beat you to the name. So you have to change things thats something you have to deal with. If you got it right away you could of had the name. Maybe you couldnt though. Too bad then life isnt fair. And if it isnt your name and I doubt they will be like "well ok we didnt have anything with the name in it so sure we'll change", it isnt giving your server a bad rep.

So just get a new name. Make it easy on yourself.

Unless for some reason they change their name in which case this post doesnt matter.

They sound alike, I do know.. I did work there for a fair while..
That tree top looks great but I don't like the bottom :)

The tree is outdated it will be replaced with alot of different types of trees all non classic looking.
