Problems with letters

I was trying to do a custum letter set but owell a picture is worth a thousand words.

marcoR 01-12-2004 08:41 PM

if there's enough room you could try to bring the letters down

TonyRivers 01-12-2004 08:55 PM

Well what im trying to do in make everything transparent and also notice just above the bottom left and right corners where is that coming from?

marcoR 01-12-2004 09:32 PM

I know how it works, I used to do work for classic style servers.

Notice in the bottom right there are four little pixels - that's what makes the stuff colord

As marcoR said, those four little pixels at the far right of the letters file are used to fill in the center part of the letters file.

If you want the middle to be fully transparent, just delete those four pixels that are in the bottom right corner of the letters file.

I had the same problem too when I was working on the wood letterbox for End of Ages until I found those four little stray pixels and saw how they worked.

Your letterbox looks quite good Tony so keep up the good work. :D

Take Care & Pixels Beware!,

That is what I thought. But that never worked for me.

I don't want it to be fully transparent I just want it to be like the edges and that still does not explain why above the corners it is all gray with no transparency.

After closely comparing your letters file with the custom letters and template file that I made for End of Ages, I found what the problem in your image was Tony.

Because you setup your inside edge with a dithered transparent pattern, you needed to change how you tiled your image to account for that. What was happening was that on one of your edge tiles, the dithered transparent pattern was going one way and on the other edge tile, the pattern was reversed. Graal was then loading both dithered transparent patterns on top of each other and since each was the reverse copy of the other one, they appeared filled in where they overlapped in the textbox.

Download the fixed version that I made for you right here.

There is still an ever so slight glitch in your transparent pattern around the bottom corners where I fixed it, but I highly doubt anyone who is not trained to notice minute differences in images would notice it at all. ;-)

Heads back to working on graphics,

Thank you for solving the problem.
