Zormite Recruiting Guidelines

Recruitment Guidelines, The Zormite Republic:

For the recruiter:

Who you recruit, you are responsible for. It is up to you to oversee that person's training and orientation into Zormite society. When our Immigration dept is more developed perhaps a training period can be provided by Noblemen and Noblewomen.

For now, the rules for recruitors shall be as follows:

IMMIGRANTS AS MEMBERS

1. There should be no more than 10 immigrants listed on the member roster at any given time. If we have 10, we're full.

2. Always check the blacklist before recruiting any new member. Is your blacklist up to date? Be sure to ask!

3. Do not add players to Zormite just to get into BMode, or for short periods of time for any reason.

ROLEPLAY REQUIREMENTS

4. Potential immigrants must RP their request for entry into Zormite. You must be on tag and give them an on screen RP test. Feel free to involve other Zormites in this process. It could take as long or as little time as you need.

The potential member must have a proper RP name when making his request. Once the RP test is complete, you should be satisfied that this person has a good basic knowledge of RPing in a kingdom or explain that he is not yet ready to proceed and tell him why.

PLAYER BEHAVIOR - WHILE IN CHARACTER

5. Before you apply an immigrant tag, your recruit must RP pledge allegiance to both the Zormite Replubic and her Dictatress. He/she must also know that cussing, scamming, kill or kill drop stealing and map jumping are intolerable actions and will result in a member's removal from Zormite.

Your recruit should also have a basic understanding of the RP of Zormite. That it is a peaceful kingdom steeped in watery history and traditions. That our people are not war-like. That we are allied with Dustari and friends to the people of Kurenai Joukai. We are respectors of all kingdoms and a Zormitian never aggresses first. Yet we defend honor and justice and will fight when necessary.

PLAYER BEHAVIOR - WHILE OUT OF CHARACTER

6. PKing is a part of Kingdoms. It is acceptable for OOC Zormites to PK other OOC players - off tag, toward off tag players.

If a player leaves kingdom to PK players FOR ANY REASON, he will not be re-added.

During RP it is only acceptable to PK (or fight) other players during war or in duel arenas.

If you are attacked while on tag, you have kingdom permission to defend yourself unto the death of your opponent or until you reach safety. Do not prolong these on tag situations. Go off tag for PKing.

ADDITIONAL

7. Do not add players who are high level newbs unless you know who they are. (example: level 20 with 4 hours) These players are sometimes considered an RP threat.

8. At this time, there is no need to mass announce that Zormite is recruiting. All requests should come from the potential new member, or, you can attempt to recruit someone you feel would be an asset to the Republic.

For the Recruit:

1. You must have 60 hours and be level 6 before submitting an RP request for entry into Zormite.

2. Only 'In Character' requests will be recognized and replied to.

3. It is suggested you read the Zormite forum regularly and have read the stickied threads.

4. Once you are a citizen of Zormite the following actions are illegal according to Zormite law:

Saying /leave kingdom
stealing kills
stealing kill drops
jumping maps uninvited
scamming or assisting in scamming
cursing/obscene language
aggressive or war-like actions or language

If you encounter problems on the game, you should contact a kingdom leader or staff.

4. At this time it is prohibited to join Zormite while belonging to any global guilds which threaten kingdoms.

5. You will remain on immigrant status for a minimum of 12 hours online playing time. After this period, it will be considered that you first become a Civilian, then ultimately, a Citizen of Zormite.

Upon further promotion, citizens may be invited to join a ministry for more in-depth roleplaying opportunities.

Please contact me in game if you have additions or suggestions for this document.

Why the face? There's nothing wrong with that restriction, it limits the chance of people being recruited who, despite what RP talents they may have, sit there toguilding questions like "where can i craft the watering can? what's a harmonia? is it like harmonica? how do i bless weapons?" -all day-.

I used to ask those questions.

If done in the proper form, it's a benefit, as it encourages the kingdom to help its newest members.

I suppose, and yeah everyone used to ask questions, but simple ones that you can find out just by exploring for like 10-20 minutes topps shouldn't have to be covered by people in kingdoms who may be discussing more important matters :O

It just annoys me how the only contribution some members ever make to discussions are how can i do this, where do i go with that, where can i find those...or if someone is making an important announcement and some kid interrupts with "any1 got 2 iron?" X_X

But its never done correctly from what I have seen. Having 10+ guild messages all asking the same question after it has been answered is annoying. Also having newer members hassaling others for items when they are busy or doing something else.

New recruits should have at least some basic knowledge of the server before trying to join a kingdom.

I do respond to such questions as well, when newbies hopelessly and repeatedly mass out, and to the extent to which I am willing to sacrifice personal game time for FAQ-type questions.

I'm sure all good Zormitians do the same. :)

The goal of the level 6, 60 hour requirement is to ensure a player is indeed well enough oriented into general game play that his/her initial participation in the kingdom can reasonably be expected to be a contribution and not sap the RP energies and potential of guild exchanges.

Unlike perhaps Dustari, Zormite is constantly barraged with criticism regarding the quality of their RP. As the leader of Zormite, I sincerely don't care what chronic complainers think, but if I can create an environment within my kingdom which enriches game play, by involving more experienced players, I feel it's a good thing.

The requirement by no means is meant to leave newbies in the cold. On the contrary, assisting new players is an RP unto itself, met within the Ministry of Information.

The MoI rank of Rugin - RP description - The Rugin is a scout who serves widely as a recruiting agent. Assists in public relations and bringing potential new members to emotional and physical readiness. (teaches players about the game)

Thus The Zormite Republic provides a well developed training ground for utter newbies (potential members) while maintaining a slightly higher standard for actual members.

Regarding the Blacklist. I understand why you unstickied it and all. However, I still think it would be helpful to have it readily accesible in some form. Perhaps it would be a good idea to simply lock the thread and delete existing replies which somebody might have a problem with? Maybe that way it would not offer a breeding ground for negativity. Those people who are on the list justly deserve it.

Eh, either way.

I think its good, helps other kingdoms be wary of blacklisted zormite members, and trouble makers. (in the non-rp sense)

How does discussion of posting the blacklist (or not) fit in this thread? I guess it's related....

I have discussed this issue both with Zen and with other kingdom leaders privately. First, as the leader of Zormite, I am sure publicly posting the blacklist goes against Zormite RP. In a real Dictatorship a list of it's public enemies would be kept top secret. It would not be flaunted around publicly so enemies could band together to harm the state.

Secondly, I am indeed uncomfortable with it. The reasons why a name arrives on the Zormite blacklist will never be up for discussion in an open forum, so why post a list of names in one? We simply feel this is an in game, private matter for Zormite officials only.

As names are added to the list and while reasons are still fresh (and stinging) Zormite promptly notifies allied kingdoms so they will have the same useful information.

Those who need access to the blacklist for purposes of recruiting have it and receive updates as they occur too. Our method of maintaining the blacklist has worked well.

Anyone who feels they have a need to see the blacklist can submit his/her requests and reasons for needing to see it to me in game.

*shrug*
You mentioned it, and it has to do with recruitment *glances at thread title* so I figured it made sense to post here.

Sorry.
