Pets

This has most likely been suggested before but I haven't seen it implemented yet so...

The only pet with a real use is the horse, well mayeb all the pets should give a bonus for raising them

I was thinging something like
Horse-> speed(we know)
Monkey-> sustenance+ (They make bananas?)
Yoda-> wisdom or int+ (yoda is very intelligent mind you)
Squirll-> charme? (couldn't think of really anything good, but they are cute so maybe people will like you better if you have one)

any way if you have better ideas please post

GTXOO 12-24-2003 06:40 AM

People would just get them all to get all the bonuses...

I really think a limit to 1 or 2 Pet's should be made.

--
Other pet ideas should be

Not being able to steal someone's pet.

Leveling Up Pets...?

Stefan said long ago, they would be able to help in battle.

k?

Thats uncalled for a-hole.

Damix, your suggestions are pretty cool but I doubt they will actually be added or even considered.

No need to climb down to his level, is there?

Anyway, I like the duggestion in general, but I think there should be different abilities, more realistic, and not altering your personal abilities. Say, have a choupa detect whether a lord is close, say in 3 screens distance, like a dog can sniff prey; an ape could harvest fruits growing on potential trees - it has been suggested that there are plants which take hours or days to mature; I can't think of anything for Yodas and Squirrels right now, but it's late anyway.

and what do the pet with spikes(they aren't squirrels, there are 4 caves with pets, squirrels are up north of the mine,)

GTXOO 12-26-2003 03:10 AM

What are you talking about...

axman36 12-26-2003 04:03 AM

there are 5 pets, what are the things with spikes called, and also how do I get animals to hold things?

Satrek2000 12-26-2003 06:16 PM

There are squirrels, choupas, yodas, monkeys and horses. No spikes. Also, pets can't hold things. The only useful thing is that you can ride horses. Monkeys will climb up on palm trees for fun.

axman36 12-26-2003 08:10 PM

so www.graalonline.com lied?(they said pets can)

Salli 12-27-2003 08:51 AM

 Where does it say a pet can hold things? All I read is that monkeys will climb palm trees.

Satrek2000 12-27-2003 09:56 PM

I can't remember such a news either, except for some rumors about saddle bags being added - which weren't. Same with forts and flying pets.

axman36 12-31-2003 12:01 AM

go to animals and pets at http://www.graalonline.com/about/kingdoms-feat.php ok

axman36 01-11-2004 06:54 AM

so how do you get pets to hold stuff, all the npc server says is shes the server all the npcs are mostly controlled by her:\

Satrek2000 01-11-2004 12:22 PM

Believe me, the correct answer is "Not at all". I have at least one of every kind of pet, and I never flound a way, nor heard anything remotely like it from anyone.

axman36 01-11-2004 07:24 PM

so none of us know, then I guess the features did lie

Ok ideas about the pets:
- monkeys could throw down coco nuts from the trees (food)
- choopas could carry items, like 5 tons
- squirrels could help you finding your burried bags

sounds good - maybe depending on the (closest) owner's current foodbar? The less food, the more coconuts?

Hm... "You open the Choupa"? Still sounds good, too, but maybe there should be some kind of sine or rope to hold the Choupa by, and a system that items carried can't be stolen...

Are burry bags markes with a name?

gravator 01-13-2004 11:54 PM

Some folks could have forgot to place a marker on the minimap, Then later scared everyone in the trade center by suddenly screaming "OMFG I FORGOT WHERE I LEFT IT!!!"

That was the great bomb scare on graal once btw. ;)

Yes the item knows who has put it there

GTXOO 01-21-2004 05:31 PM

How bout being able to add PACKS to the CHOUPA, say if you have a bag, you drag it to the choupa and it appears on the choupa, limit 2 bags per choupa. They go on each side.
and all you do is click on the bag for it to open?

I like the idea of squirrels adding to your charisma, just a little. That would be good.

But it'd defy the idea of not taking pets into public buildings (the temp-stable and such ideas).

Medabee5111 02-05-2004 12:20 AM

since noone is giving the yoda a chance, i think i'll post some ideas:

1: being able to see things you can't, like cave entrances, map stairs, invisable items, you name it

2: ability to toss you over some obsticals then climb over after you, sounds weird but hey, it could work

3: ability to take controll of it, your charecter would go into a "i am invincable" sorta mode where nothing can kill him, then you run around as your pet, but you can't go into doors and you can't go too far away from yourself

4: helps kill stuff for you, like give it a flaming sword and watch it turn nearby monsters into mince meat, but it would have to be able to get knocked out (NOT killed) and leveling it up could be applyed, it would be a personal battle partner, usefull for maps and stuff

well those are my ideas, and i think i have been typing to much :p

You've been playing pokemon too much, that's for sure ;)
But the ideas are nice, i think i once suggested that we should be able to battle our pets XD I think there're more important things that need to be added first rather than making pets more useful. They begin with an F.

Pokemon rules,

anyway the CURRENT use for pets is this:

1) Use them as walking Billboards, Valentines, Insults, Dirty slogans. :D (You didn't hear that from me!) :D

2) Parade, I've done this before.

3) Pure annoyance. Trading the eggs on the tables making them hatch and hearing the responses from everyone in the room...
