End of Ages is in need of scripting help.
 

Yes, I know I am making one of those annoying 'We need help for our developing playerworld' threads

I find them annoying as I am sure most of you do as well. But trust me, I have been avoiding it as long as possible. I just want to let everyone know that development on EoA is going great, but we could use 2 more dedicated scripters. I am not asking for people to spend a little free time helping us... I mean that we need 2 people to apply on our website (www.end-of-ages.com) and then work on EoA only. We have a staff rule, that NO member of staff may work on another playerworld.

Also, if you want more info on the server, it's all on the website (www.end-of-ages.com)

a little information that probably is not on the site, is that we have been working on this PW for well over a year (since November 2002).

Also, we have 3 great scripters already... but we need a little more help... if we can find 2 more dedicated scripters, I know we can be ready to go public by Febuary. Levels and Graphics are going at the right tempo, to be ready in Febuary... but we need a bit more scripting work to be done, and I'd hate to see the levels and gfx ready, but not scripts...

Well, anyways, if you are interested, please log on the website, and check it out, and apply if you think you can dedicate yourself to our project.

ProjectShifter is in the twilight zone too..(though I saw him on GK today with his tag on..still doesn't mean he does anything x.x)..

Yeah, just because they have other things to do doesn't mean that they don't work with the GST anymore.

Yeah, osrs owns a server that is called Archaic Online.

It seems like they don't work with the GST anymore..They all broke up and have separate jobs..When they don't do GST duties for about a month or so, to me that means they aren't a unit anymore.

I fail to see you problem here. You have said that you have already 3 good scripter yet you want more. Most player-worlds would be happy to have 1 person can script including my player-world.
Very few Graal players can script, but even the few players that can scripts only a small number of them are good at scripting.
(GraalOnline really need to make a easy to understand tutorial , explain how Npc coding is composed , the meaning of the commands , explain server side code & have a few simple tutorial on making simple yet reverent programs)
Your main rule “No member of staff may work on another playerworld” is a good rule but you might need to make exceptions if you want more scripter to help out, mainly because of lack of scripter on Graal.

It wouldn’t be a bad Idea if every player-would owner learned how to script. I personally am learning C, C++ and Vb . I never really tried graal scripting but am going to give it a try.

That is true... but one of the 3 is not able to log on very often, and so the amount he can work is limited. Rogue has been sick, but now he's getting better, so he'll be working now... but he mostly does big things, like our time/weather system, and stuff like that. The third scripter is also the Events Chief... he has been scripting/making events/prizes most of the time... he hasnow started to help with NPC's, but there is still a lot of work to be done. the reason why we need another 1 or 2 scripters, is because we want to have a LOT of content when we go public... also, we have a very large overworld, which we want filled with stuff, and not just empty.

I know it's selfish, but since the gfx, and levels are finnishing up... I'd like the scripting to be on the same level.

oh, and I stressed that we have 3 already, to show whoever is thinking of applying, that they will not be the only one working on scripts

i have screenshots on my site of some of their stuff. This server has potential. Check it out and talk to ETD. it is truelly a great playerworld.

We do, and things are kinda hard since the PW Renter doesn't want us editing his scripts he made a long time ago and he recently wiped out some of the ones he made for us. :(
I don't really feel motivated anymore to make anything. :/

Wow. Those screenshots make me actually want to play EoA. Consider that high praise, because I haven't played Graal in a very long time. ^_^

osrs doesnt own it. and he was never in the gst.

GST is just a perk that the scripters of GK get, since all the gst were to begin with were scripters working on gk.

It's some gfx that Kyle made a while ago, but we never used...
also, PD, ignore Es, he quit, you can edit his scripts all youy want. When I get back to school sunday, I will e-mail them to you, and you can re-upload, and get things working again...


Well, thank you guys for the praise! ^_^ it means a lot! I am very happy with our gfx, and level work so far! Both sides of the server are going greatly, and are almost to the point where we could open... EXEPT, scripts are holding us back... we are currently planning out all the systems, and making gfx/gani's for the NPC's... but without any active scripters, we can't put the peices together...

Really, when EoA is relieced depends 100% on how much scripting help we can get, and how quickly we can get things scripted... not much scripting help means that we won't be public for a while...

anyways, you get the point. So please, somebody help us! We have a great server here, we just need scripters!
