some nice ideas for v3
I recently got started with mandrake linux (linux bashers, f-off...) and I came to a fun discovery with v3.
When I logged onto 2k2, I would find that none of the graphics or ganis were loading, so I went into the F2 rpwindow/psudo debugger and made an intresting discovery. Where the client installed itself, it could not read or write files. Now I supose one could asume since I'm using Linux, I would know everything and give myself rw permisions to those folders, but thats an unfair asumption. FIX IT, MONKEYS!!!!!!! also a working subscreen, a server selector that doesn't crash, and sub windows that aren't constrained to the client area would be nice, ya know. |
chmod it, perhaps?

lots of things that I like to use the moniter for than just graal. Besides, its not imposible to let the window not be constrained from the game area. I've seen it done before alot, and even with "pretty windows", not just your average pop up or w/e.... and with c++, too!!! Well, I'm sure all those exemplamary programs were made by some sort of COMPITENT PROGRAMER. Anyways, now that you see my meaning.... FIX IT, MONKEYS!!!!!! |
What you are calling a 'subscreen' is called an 'inventory window' or a 'weapon select menu' by the rest of the world. :(

and what you refer to as "you" is refering to more than one person ^^

NPC Code:207.44.156.91 listserver.graalonline.com Into your hosts file... sounds like your nameservers suck, and your box isn't cacheing properly... quite speedy on my end. Quote:

Also, the higher the resolution you set graal to be, the more unstable it becomes. Quote:

I don't know, I havn't attempted to emulate the RC in Wine at all. Quote:
glxinfo Look for Direct rendering, does that say yes or no? And, by unstable, do you mean it's slower or actually segfaults? Quote:

For the chmod problem
Use this command: chmod a+rwxs directory Make sure you are set as root when doing this Really, there are alot of uses for chmod The first section, the a, is really just what kind of users are going to be affected by it (a=all) The second set is merely an addition that sets the permissions for the defined user/s for the first section (since it's all users, all users will be affected by the permissions) r: read w: write x: forgot s: forgot Really, reading the man page about the commands will be more easier to comprehend rather then my babbling. |
x for files is executable, for directories it is file listing (ls) permission.
|
ooo I see what I did wrong before... I was just doing chmod +rw <directory>, lol. By any chance is there a way to make it so it changes all the sub directories, too?
Also, I got graal to download stuff properly... I reinstalled it into my home directory instead where it defaulty installs it (well, default for when you install it in root, wich it seems to need for some reason to install properly). |
