Web-RC

I was thinking, it would be cool to have an RC thats inside a web browser, so if your not home at someones house or something and are to lazy to download RC, this would be pretty helpful. >D

So you people saying that a web-based rc is insecure, yet, FTP is run web-based, as is the entire account login system for the site. How is it insecure? :rolleyes:

IP range checking -- his intention is to use it elsewhere than home.

I think he was implying that it should be more accessible. It was a nice idea, but due to the security issues I doubt it will ever happen.

Nice idea in theory, but if you're intent would be to acess it some where in which you cannot download the RC then that would mean that you don't have any prenotation of the IP Range, and thus IP Ranges would be unusable, and thus far too insecure.

The only explaination you can come up with is that there is no ip setting for accounts. True, but I am just wondering why other people say it is so insecure because it is "web-based".

Actually, somthing has just came to mind....
The New RC that will be released with the New Engine will be scriptable, which wouldn't work if RC were web based... So there's a reason for ya, but I could see the benefits of Web RC as of current...
