"So-and-so is online"
 

Kind of like on MSN or AIM... The ability to toggle whether or not you want an alert message when everyone/a certian person(s) comes online. Both for client and RC, along with special features... For example, in the client, you can choose an option that gives you a "So-&-so is online" when someone from your buddylist comes online, or someone from your guild... And for RC, you can set it to specific people, or just when someone logs onto RC...

Now, on the other end, there would need to be options to disallow everyone from seeing when you come online... And a check box in everyones profile to disallow certian people from seeing when you come online (like the mute checkbox).

Hmm, how the message is displayed might be a bit tricky... To make non-annoying that is... Perhaps for RC, it would be like on MSN, with that little drawer like thing that pops out from above the System tray. As for on client... Hmm, maybe a pop-up window... But that might be annoying...

Ideas? Comments? Critisisim? :)

I think just a sound would be best, but I doubt it will be added.

I always have my sound turned off... Interfers with my music :-x

bah, I hate pop-up windows nomatter what they are for, a sound or expanding text menu thing off of the list would do fine. Hmm, would be nice to have the buddy list minimize into the toolbar like AIM though...

This is all good and stuff, but I am not a smart person when it comes to scripting, so loriel your making mine. :)

I imagine this would happen in the control-npc's script, something like:

It wouldnt show for RC's either, and it'd be laggy as hell, but w/e o.0

Maybe the minimized rc should flash like AIM when something goes into the text field?
