Graal Additions
Advertisment
Graal does not have that many players, it would be great to see tons of male and female players on everyday, and new faces every week. I suggest that graal tries to get out in the world more, like trying to getting reviewed in different gaming magezines, gaming sites, MMORPG sites. Webpage Perhaps more updates to the webpage on the VIP section, graal world news, and perhaps even a link section where players can send in URLS to there graal webpages and they can be put up on the webpage, and more interaction with the website and the game. Graal Features Maybe a few features like a global buddy list or a graal messenger of some sort, and maybe toolkits or manuals or for Graal Kingdoms, also while i'm talking about Graal Kingdoms, more events would be nice. Like, having some sort of new bomies come down from the sky and attack the humans, or have a dark god do some evil act or spread poision accross the land, and maybe a time/calendar/weather system, so players can feel more into the world, and could also plan events IC. Dungeon Masters Many people believe graal kingdoms could use dungeon masters, i must agree also. The current EM's such as Chris and Lance would be great, they do things like host role-playing social events or whatever, and upload graphics and things for the players, and handle there problems. |

I think what would be cool is if the people on your buddies list would be shown... even if they where on another server :o (but with a special head icon so there'd be no mix up)... maby similar for the guilds section o.O that would be fun. Actual updates to the game and kingdoms would also be nice. I wish v3 would come to a playable state already... too buggy to realy use, and not enough features to make the bugs worth the trouble to use it. |

There should be a global list of players online but you only have to be on it if you choose to be.

2k1 was great before it was given to some normal user and it was turned into a crapy playerworld. THEY EVEN RUINED THE ZALTIC LABS... 2k2 IS great because not any fool can work there. though I've only presented one side of it, my point is the game is only truely at its best when its either fully professional, or not at all professional. see, "professional" kinda implys that the people working on it are seriouse for giving you a good time so you'll throw money at them. "unprofessional" would probably be some coder having a fun time by making an easy to program for game engine, and alowing everyone to use it to the fullest as a creative output for whatever enjoyment they find from it, even at the expence of others. now, this "semi-proffesional" that you say graal should be, and I say graal alas is at, would be some kind of unhappy medium from someone doing something for the sake of them getting money, but they're letting you do the work for your own enjoyment. to simplify the statement, wich is pretty true, in graal you work on a server... you even BUY the server... for the sake of your enjoyment... but wait, people have to pay someone else to fully enjoy your server... makes for some "fun" selections of staff and players, if you ask me. so with that little thought that a "something" is only truely enjoyable with its fully profesional, or truely unproffessional, I lead us to the real point of my little rant: graal should either go compleatly professional, or go back to what it was in the good old days. Granted, I'm not saying "THE OLD DAYS WHERE THE ONLY WAY!!!" only with a lot worse spelling and a few numbers, I'm saying at its state it isn't up to its full potential. or find some intresting happy medium... ...or even pretend there isn't a problem and continue on its merry way in its current state? oh, and since I didn't realy arive to a solid point, just think of this as food for thought. |
um, professional doesn't have to mean only a company develops everything. what i, obviously, meant was that graal is unprofessional in the sense that nothing gets completed on time. look at the guilcp, graal3d, graal v3, and the other million things that we, as users, are promissed.
graal seems like a playtoy to me. unixmad's own little toy. he doesn't treat this like a company. look at the thing he started a couple weeks ago. he made a big post about saying how updates and the next weeks schedule will be posted every week. what ever happened to that after the first week? well what happened was that he got lazy and decided that it was to much work to keep his promises. nothing on graal is ever thaught out. all that happens is a person thinks of a idea. they then tell unixmad. unixmad likes the idea so he just promises it to the playerbase. with no development done on it at all he just sets a random date. |
I still believe Graal would do alot better if it advertises, Graal Kingdoms is really fun and it has alot of good playerworlds to back it up, and i do think there should be a section for Official Servers and Playerworlds.
Like, upper tabs: Gold, Silver And then tabs come under it, wich our official servers and playerworlds. But if graal got out in magezines and posted a few cool screenshots of different servers, and was put up on some webpages i'm sure we could get tons of new people, wich is a fun thing. |
Graal will not do better if it advertises because then Graal will experience a huge BOOM in trial users, taking up all the bandwith (hope im using the right terms in the right places) and will force cyberjouers to pay up more money for the costs. I'm pretty sure only 5-10% of these trials will even upgrade.
As said, Graal just isn't ready. |

Graal is really old, it's plenty ready. |
There are some problems though:
1: Graal isnt really massive. Games like Ragnarok Online are, when they get thousands on at a time, but with graal theres maybe 500 people on all servers at any time. 2: People on graal dont roleplay any more, except maybe the people who play Valikorlia. Most people on Kingdoms certainly dont. When Kingdoms came out, it was an RP server, without any PKing. After the alchemy bug, most people shot up in levels. When PKing was allowed, guess what? Everyone went around PKing people :megaeek: . Noone RPs any more, GK is all about levelling and PKing, a shame, as most other servers are like that. People might not want to come on graal if lame powergamers will PK them as soon as possible and undo all their hard work, ir be abused and called "Nubs". In my opinion, GK should not have PKing on it. Thats just my opinion. All of this makes graal more of a SMOG: Small Multiplayer Online Game No offense meant to any of the games creators/staff. |

Graal does have somewhat a quality control, it makes the playerworlds people buy, in private mode, they shouldnt expect much from those, although some players have some skill in developing, and... some don't. Most players don't know what to do with their ideas, and have trouble finding others to help them out, as it is, I think there are far too many playerbaught worlds for there to be enough people with vip/gold subscriptions to be as staff on the newer ones anyway...
However, I have noticed the quality level drop on average around most public classic server's content aswell (removing a lot of decent things, changing management far too often, starting projects and never finishing them, then eventually quitting, and also leaving known bugs unattended), and the quality of staff aswell (Not helpful, lazy, no motivation from superiors). Not to mention, Graal Kingdoms has some of the worst lag known to graal... (most likely do to playerhouses) yet it's content is pretty nice; most servers don't balance out like this. As for the graal kingdoms stuff, lower the exp recieved from PKs, and people talk about the lack of RPing all the time, I say all of those who posted about that, find out who else does it, and stay with them; find as many more people as you can and keep them together. If a very large group of people go and rp together, openly in masses and in public, not just in toguilds, I'd think others might join in, with the exception of those that might try and ruin your fun... Get the kingdom leaders together, maybe they have some ideas... anyways, I'm still new to kingdoms, accept or shun my thoughts, they are just here... I'm in a typing mood also, can you tell? :) |
Anyone know if theyre still gonna bring out PROPER 2002? When everything has been added, and all bugs cleared up?
I believe they were gonna do that originally. It would be a finished version of 2k2. And i think they've already had one reset, but obviously it didn't work long-term... You have some good ideas, Toxin, and some bad.... The Kingdom leaders....hmm...Tseng isnt on tag very often, no offense to him but i think it would be better if he stepped down and let Padren take over. The Samurai leaders are on quite often...Havent really seen forest leader on....And i dont know about CP and Zormite leaders, they may be on a lot. The problem with RP events is different time zones, suddenly the main bad guy might go: "Sorry guys, gotta go to bed/school/somewhere" Which is a slight problem. All kingdoms are peaceful now, so there are no wars No point fighting wars any more, because of all the uber powergamers, for example in dustari (no offense to) : Ningnong, Driken, Zoe. So if a level12 like me were to attack Dustari (even though im in it) i would be slaughtered. See what i mean? |
About the advertising, I think they should try and get a spot on penny-arcade somewhere... I mean Tycho and Gabe, whoever deals with the site, will let just abouot anything on there, froom what I have seen. Not very framiliar with IGN but they could try there too..
