RC Skins.
 

This freak idea just come into my head today, wouldn't be nice if we could change the skin of our rc's? Something like winamp skins but graal-related-skins, of course.

You sort of can ;)
I think alot of people have been doing it for some time now. But would be nice for a skin thing that you can just load the files in instead of doing the long way around.

I dont think that's possible without like rebuilding RC...

All Graal related skins of course..;)

Once the gfx are made, it's not very hard to apply the changes. Takes a couple minutes tops.

You'd guys would be using purple buttons if it wasn't for me! Tseng had them purple and I made him change em. I guess I am just cool like that.

Now, if only the green text could be changed.

The buttons probably could use some more work - I made the main ones a bit more matrix-y colored. >:P

I like the subtle differences as well. Most notably, the replacement of players with slaves. :d

Wouldn't "batteries" be more appropriate though? Slaves know they're oppressed, batteries don't know they're being used.

What hex editor do ya'll use?

I would use winhex, except that it causts money...but for some people that may not be a problem...

you need a Resource editor to change the look of the RC
i think Resource Tuner from Heaventools is one of the best resource editors. ResHack is also ok but its more simple and you cant do so much with it as you can with Resource Tuner

UltraEdit for the subtle differences, though I also used a nub program to replace the gfx (Hey, I got lazy :)).

As i allready posted, the green text cant be changed to a different colour using resource hacking.

However, it used to font from the main form, so you can change the font, do something else.

Not sure it can be done in th forums, but i'd appriciate it if somebody could direct me to said nub program.. at hex, i am nub.

I started editing my RC ever since I got it, now everyone is doing it :o

Now that a lot of us have been introduced to ResHacker, of course. ;)

I imagine that falls under "Simple". Too bad the icons have nothing to do with the buttons they represent.

I can't figure out where the color property is stored for the typing bar for RC chat... i can't get mine off green :|
