Note: Not done yet.

I'm working on the shaded/completed version now, which will fill the fourth frame. Anyway, take a gander.

That's bloody brilliant!

Keep going! GOGOGO! *whips*

marcoR 11-27-2003 02:44 AM

'Tis cool.

Transformers :O

CheeToS2 11-27-2003 03:17 AM

heres what I don't understand.. how do you get from "Concept" to "Cleanup"?

I've scanned drawings before, and colored in the lines black, but they get extremely thick. Do you just sit there and painstakingly shorten all the line strokes & make sure they look right? x.x

Scott 11-27-2003 03:23 AM

Concept is what I like to call the sketch, I guess. Then I zoom in and clean up the lines. Making it not all thick and blotchy. Defining the shape. Yes, it took an assload of time because you do it pretty much pixel by pixel. :/

marcoR 11-27-2003 03:24 AM

Hmm.. I thought I was the only one that practised that art! I find that's easier then pixeling it pixel-by-pixel

It's ok, I still love you, even though you can't match my skills.

o.o pixle by pixle cleanups on a hand done drawing? you take inefficiency to a new level. hand pixling can only do so much...

... nice image, though.

You greatly underestimate pixel art.

Inefficent? What the hell? It saves time on drawing the the image, and I can shape it with ease too.

Nick1988 11-27-2003 05:52 AM

Looks cool, finish it up.

well, I'm asuming you're using teh gimp, or some warez program, like adobe photoshop.

granted, if you're using ms paint, poor you, then pixle by pixle is most efficient because its practicaly the only thing you CAN do with it.

drawing the sprite is half the fun, I say. (and a tablet mouse makes the cleanup almost too easy)

Doesn't sound like it saved you time.

Cleaning up should take long, obviously you don't know much if you don't know how it saved me time. If I make a mistake by doing the "zomg good copy first" without having a concept, then I have to erase it and fix it. Now, doing the "zome good copy" means pixel by pixel. I saved time by doing the concept, and then cleaning it up. Other wise it would have taken me twice as long because fixing mistakes on a concept is easy.
Or unless you're a lazy ass and know nothing about the meaning pixelation, use a *** tablet.

What? It's taking the inefficient and making it efficient. How this process goes does not matter nor affect how the end product will come out. Actually, the longer it takes to do something around the lines of this, the better your finished piece is going to be. It doesn't matter wether it's inefficient or not.
