RC Uploading

(Sorry for another thread, but I thought this was important enough to to post a new thread.)

On Classic, when I upload a file, the last character of the file is deleted and two character returns are placed in that spot. This causes problems with image files, as it corrupts them. We need this fixed as soon as possible.

Noticed this on sdev too.

Doesn't that have to do with the FILENAME and not the file's DATA? I'm talking about the last character in the file data, not the filename.

well me and Ko getting bored tought.... i hope u guy fix that bug asap

Ok, more information is needed, like what exactly causes this, and we can figure this out.
When you upload a file, does it remove some text? Is the file corrupted(was it converted?)... Just some more info.

I have fixed something in the gserver2 so that it handles the size of the data packets correctly, but it seems that the RC sends it wrong. But I can add a check for that, will fix the server in a few minutes.

Now if only you could make coordinates more accurate... :)

Admins 11-06-2003 06:13 AM

Should be possible, although I am not sure where that higher precision would improve something?

I like NPCs to move as accurately as possible. With this limitation, it's not possible to make things move very well. Say you do x = 5.875;. The NPC (on the server) will be at the actual coordinate 5.875, however, the data that's send to the player contains the coordinate 5.5. This leads to NPCs being in places that they really aren't in for the client. Also, the 0.5 distance restriction on the move; command is very annoying too, as slightly smaller distances are useful in some cases.

But I think you understood all of that from the PM. Just posting in case anyone else is curious.

The same thing is happening in guild text files. The last letter or 2 from each name gets cut off.
