Playerworlds and Playerworlds.
Right. I'd really like to know one thing.
Since you now all do like this Buy A Playerworld system, can playerworlds still be submitted the old way? If they can- how? |

as far as I know, the onyl way to get up is to pay $59 for 6 months, or $99 for a year, then pass a PWA inspection to go public |
No free servers :(.
|
Why was playerworld judging involved in the tryout if the PWA doesn't do that anymore?

You mean I have to pay for a server, then get it reviewed just to go public?

Remember, public worlds get a free month of hosting for every month they are public... meaning, if they are really good, and stay public, then they only have to pay the 1 time... but if the PW becomes bad, then they get moved to the third tab, and their months begin to tick away again. Doesn;t it make sence that the PWs which do NOT make graal money have to pay, and the public ones do not have to? |

=X but we all know what he ment ;) and I think it's become a common term to use now (third tab) since that's how it was talked about before.... though, with your idea Spark, there will actually be a third tab... but different than the one talked about before, which will make things a little confusing :P (is your idea ever going to happen?) |

Erm, Stefan told me there will be four tabs altogether :|

like, PWs which do NOT get a free month hosting, and only VIP/Gold can play them, BUT they have passed some simple test, to be placed on the list, so people can just click the name, and connect... (something like that anyways) |

for every month a PW is public, they get one FREE month to ADD to their paid months... therefor, all PWs should have to pay one time, then as long as they stay public, they will never have to pay again... they have to pay the first time, because if they get sent into the 'third tab' they need to have some paid time to work from right away... anyways, they just have to pay for the 6 month period once, and then just stay public, and never have to pay again :P *edit* but PWs like shifting ages, and oasis will not have to pay more, as long as they have time left from when they first paid... just when they go public, they start getting free months to add to their paid time |
Its quality-centric so don't think a high playercount will keep you there ;) As I understand the PWA will be the judge on quality and thus will determine those that remain available to everyone. Those that don't meet those expectations will have to survive on thier money until they can fullfil them and will only be available to paying users. Does this make better sense? This entire system, in my opinion, is to give PW developers an incentive to do better than the cliched norm which would be making a server like Classic (not saying Classic is bad) and adding in personal modifications. It basically forces developers to push thier limits to create quality content to stay on top. It will be very rewarding for those that do so because they'll have a 'free' ride for that time being.
So it kind of goes without saying that ~75%-85% of the registered and paid servers will wind up dropping off after a while simply because all that is being done is pumping money into a blackhole. |

though, realize that quality is a pretty general statment... I'm sure only 'quality' PWs will stay up... but everyone's definition of 'quality' might be a little different |
