If it was just an easier version then I doubt Stefan would need to use it. It must do something new...

Maybe it allows you to use tiles from different images?

Nah, 'cos that'd be mixing them all up and stuff. If we were going to do that then we might as well just combine all of the tiles into one set. You could be right, but I somehow don't think so... Besides, why would it be needed for survival?

On the other hand, serverside board manipulation would make it so that you could affect all the players by changing tiles. It's suited to a multiplayer environment.

Yes quite, it's probably a serverside board array thing.

But even then... why puttile? You'd have thought it'd be updateboard2 or something...

Perhaps it's just called puttile because it does actually simplify it as well. Or maybe it has some strange use which will only become clear by the v2.04 is released.

We should storm Stefan's house and demand he tells us.
