Jobs

Did Stefan ever raise the prices on jobs? He said
he was going to make fish, farming, and mining make
more money for the players. I have been griping to him
to do it for like 2 months... hehe:D

Fishing already is fairly profitable.

Mining and farming are like bad jobs.

There should be new jobs that make a ton of money, like crafting. People could make arrowheads and such out of iron and other stuff to make nice things that sell for 5p or so... And can be used to make weapons

since i'm a nice little guy, i'll let you know my job....

I'm a bomy furrier.... i kill bomys, take their skins and sell in bulk for profit.. i also make the skins into cloth and into finished, useable products.. but that costs more :D

You can already craft items to earn money - the problem is to find a buyer willing to pay more than the rescource costs... And I don't mean people massing "buying saddle" because they are too lazy to craft one, but people who will ask if a skilled craftsman would be able to make a saddle for them, which they, when they got it, will put on their horse, ride a few steps, then compliment on his/her good work and pay an amount of money worth speaking of - people who, when they get a diamond blade, don't run off to bless and sell it or attack the crafter, but instead swing it a few times then comment how well-balanced the weapon is. I hope you get my point.

Farming, baking and fishing gives 50-75% more money now (it was changed ~ 1 week ago). If it's not enough we can raise it even more :)

thats nowhere near enough, d00d
I can get 1k for blessing a flaming sword in 15 minutes, yet someone can farm for 2 hours and get about a quarter of that

It should be raised to real-life prices.... Atleast... I wouldn't sell stuff I farmed for 1p.. I would either eat it, or find someone who would pay more.

First, who sets these real-life prices? Diamonds used to go up from 100 to 500, now they're at 300 I think, so what should they sell for? Second problem: it wouldn't work... prices go up because people are willing to pay more than others to get what they need - the more they have, the more they will pay. Hence, simply raising the prices won't help in any respect.

If the prices were raised, I could try to make enough money to buy things in stores. I wouldn't NEED to buy from other players..

People don't buy from others because they need to - the point is that some of these items (Avatar, for example) are so rare, that it's sometimes quicker to buy them from others who were lucky. Also, it's easy enough to make enough money for, say, Avatar, with the avaliable jobs.

i dont recall ever permitting you to call stefan "d00d"

Desolator12 10-04-2003 03:20 AM

i still say the furrier biz is good....

but at the moment, i have to leave my 14% house to repair it with sticks, stones, and pointy gray things ;p

poop3131 10-07-2003 04:54 AM

fish are now worth 2p instead of 1 and with charm spell 3p so ten fish is 30p nice **** change :)

hey_heeyyy 10-11-2003 05:55 PM

Well, those jobs like farming/fishing takes too long and you dont make as much. I can get around 400 plat from going to the HH and getting a flaming sword, then blessing it to Govannon+3. Or, I would get loads of organics from the dungeons and use alchemy on it to turn them into large gold nuggets or small gold nuggets, then sell them. I get more than selling fish and its much faster too.
