1 Attachment(s)
I finally found my drawings I drew back in 9th grade...(2 years ago) and I thought I'd show a few. Yea sorry for the lack of quality...I had to hold them up to a webcam cause my scanner is broken. Yea i loved DBZ back in 9th grade too -_-

DV, I don't want to seem mean, but anyone can draw DBZ, not only that, you mide aswell have traced it, it's just a copy of an already made image. I don't like DBZ, and thats partially the reason i'm saying this. I'm certain most people would retort that with "Well I do so shut up`231twentyone!" but I just wanted to give you the reason.

okay.
im not gonna fight back. i could careless if you dont like dbz?...=P this was back in 9th grade so yea..(2 years ago) |
Whether or not I like it, I think DBZ is a good reference to clothes fold and anatomy(excessive that is).
|
let me get this straight, you think DBZ is a good reference for anatomy? so short, thick, muscley people, with no neck, their arms are too short, legs are too short, hair sticks straight up, skull is not the right size, (I won't go on) Is a good reference of anatomy ?
|
I stated excessive, but failed to mention muscle.
|
I believe a large, wood barrel would display better anatomy.
|
If you looked to the episodes before it got redundent and boring, aroudn the freeza saga, they had quite normal muscles, but just enough exaggeration to actually display the muscles anatomy.

EDIT: And might I add, It's anime. Think about it. |
DBZ is the best, little would you know but a guru is wrighting in this vary forum now. Oh and Gohan's head is a little bit to big, and Goku's hair is also to big.

It was good until the buu saga...
It was exactly the same thing as cell. During the time when Goku was in heavan though, during the tournament... those were the worst effects for ki I've seen in the DB series... |

Ew, DBZ...
One of the worst anime/mangas ever. Please die DBZ, Please die. |
I'm pretty sure it's already dead until GT saga comes out... which i doubt it will

i totally agree with deek and that some people post things like die dbz please die is just sad no wait its really stupid i like the thread starters drawings
|
I dont hate it, but I dont like it. I'm not a fan of anime men getting constipated, flying up into the air and yelling "holy **** your stronger than me for no reason" then "omfg I know time to own you." then "oh wait my strength is raising, har har." then "oh no, fine lets go!" then they shoot beams at eachother. It seemed to have a plot to it behind all the action, but it was hard to find it.
|
thats a "interresting" opinion
|
Deek, shh, It wasn't a flame war, it was "anyone can draw DBZ" not "OMFG tilde tilde one two, you suck" I don't like it when people put actions in my past.

Best Battles:
Majin Vegeta (he was in Super Saiyan 2) vrs Goku (he was in Super Saiyan 2) Piccolo vrs Goku (last battle in Dragon Ball) Super Saiyan Goku vrs. Fieza Final Form %100 (god it was sweet when they introduced Super Saiyans :D) Best Transformations: When Goku first turned Super Saiyan 3. When Goku went Golden Oozaru in Dragon Ball GT. (Akira didnt make Dragon Ball GT, I myself didnt like it much...) When Gohan transformed into Super Saiyan 2 while fighting the Cell Jr.'s. When Vegeta became Majin and went Super Saiyan 2. Best Characters: Piccolo Vegeta Goku Futrue Trunks Best Fusion: Veggeto (I didnt like Gogeta much.. He just looked wierd and Gotanks would of been cool if he didnt do such lame things...) Best Saga: Cell Saga/Cell Games Saga |
Okay, first off, I have to agree that the drawings aren't showing much talent, because they are just copies of poses that the DBZ characters already do. Like in most advertisements and merchandise, that is the stance they use... that one, and goku putting his hands together for a ki blast.
Now that I've said that, I will move on to the anatomical part. Okay, DBZ isn't really that great of a show to learn how to draw anatomy. (unless you want to draw a bunch of beefy guys) Although I guess the female bodies are decent enough to use as guides. The heads and hair and whatnot are purposely larger for the style, so you can't really complain that it's badly drawn. If you want to learn anatomy, there are plenty of other anime shows with better bodies. Pretty much anything I've watched recently had decent body drawings. Stuff like Naruto, where the bodies are rather detailed, and it shows all sorts of action poses. I think it would be better to base drawings off of more realistic shows though, like Prince of Tennis. As the characters in the show usually dress in shorts, tennis shoes, and a shirt, and they have all different styles of clothing and stuff, and the bodies are in good proportion. They also have more modern styles for shoes, pants, hats, etc, and again, many different poses. You can even find sketches of the people on the official site I think. :) |

They have different kinds of faces and things, and different standing and action poses, and on the last page, there are different uniforms at the bottom, hehe. Maybe I just like the style too. :) |
yea, that just about sums up what I was too lazy to say, thanks man =)
