Realms vs. Realms of Destiny
 

Hey, who let a playerworld be named Realms of Destiny?
My playerworld Realms has been around for a couple of months,
this 'of Destiny' added could cause some confusion here.

Who let that get by? Its like Apple Records when they fought against Apple Computer kinda ... My Realms was there first ...
Just call your server Destiny or something

Nobody monitors the PW names for similarities, this could have been handled privately also.

Wow, that sucks. Good luck with getting that changed though, I doubt anything will happen :(

That doesn't mean it's not allowed, just becuase they have the same world in their server name doesn't mean it's not allowed.

I don't think there is a rule against having one very common word in fantasy games to be copied by another playerworld.

This will likely cause server access problems via the client though.

If Realms of Destiny is higher in the list (player count wise), then if you enter Realms it will head over to Realms of Destiny instead.

Well the chances are not much can be done. Unless they want to change their name, they may not. As its hard enough to find a name, and they may say why do they have to change it, if they are totaly different.

Y'know, there is/was also an MMORPG by the name 'Realm'.

BAH! I thought it was forbidden to name any other MMPORG on the forums? Psh, hypocrit.

Was he 'discussing' said MMORPG? In my opinion, he was merely noting the identical names. Just like if some server decided to call themselves "Ultima Online", someone would invariably point out that it has the same name as an MMORPG.

=/ I guess I misread the thread that stated "No discussion of any MMPORG." I'm a bit confused, so I can note an MMPORG such as R a g n a r o k ( ;D just noting it) however I cannot say "Somone want to come play R a g n a r o k with me?"
I think I get it.

Whether or not you can note it depends on the context and how you note it. For example, Loriel pointed out that a dragon graphic someone made was very similar to a UO one. Rather than providing a direct link to a screenshot proving this, he linked to the main UO site - that is a no-no.

I don't think it's that big of a deal.
It's only a name, no confusion.

There is clearly no confusion between graal kingdoms and graal the adventure, or graal bomy moon.
Or the sort, why would it be the same?
