Economy allready doomed.

Tseng. Sorry to say but your full feldged economy aint working. It's the second week and there is allready a guy with 3k... two guys or more to be more exact.

So the economy is allready doomed.

Just screw the economy... make hats free, make bomies winnable by events, and just make it an RP server.

Thallen 08-30-2003 12:00 AM

It's Graal, deal with it. What happens when a flag editor trainer comes out, is the server going to be reset?

Judge_S 08-30-2003 12:20 AM

I already suggested making hats free, but then there would be no economy.

Googi 08-30-2003 12:35 AM

Well, perhaps they're scammers. Than if someone catches them, we can confiscate their money.

Unlikly. You can EASILY make 3k in 2 weeks, if you put your mind to it.

Zethar 08-30-2003 01:11 AM

Bingo. Maybe they did cheat/scam. But maybe the actually worked for it. Has anyone heard of a word call work?

I said that perhaps they were.

I've never heard of such a thing. As far as I know, there's never been a trainer that can edit things serverside. I'm pretty sure all the client stuff is saved in clientr strings so it can't be cheated.

As for the economy. All that is needed is more stuff to spend money on. Not just permanent stuff, like hats and whatnot, but stuff that has limited use.

I mean, otherwise, it's obvious people are eventually going to have tons of money. All they do is work, and when they don't buy anything, they just constantly make profit.

Technically not possible.

yea... all things on these fancy new servers these a days are serverside so all the trainers out there are clientside, so there is some nice security goin on.

If a trainer comes out that can change things serverside, than there will be bigger problems to worry about than the economy.

Most things are kept in clientr. strings I think, those are written serverside not clientside, so they can't be editted directly by the client's computer.

The communists are mad because some are richer than others ;o

Thanks for supporting me somewhat, but there's already too many people who believe that there was never flag editors, sad to say their dearly wrong. Not worth an argue.

True. I'll probably be called hacker lover for knowing this obvious truth, as if an insult.

Explain me how a trainer could get the server to (un)set arbitrary flags.
I do not think we are in classic anymore, where the client does the actual work and the server merely distributes stuff to other clients.

DarkHero 08-30-2003 04:46 PM

I know one of them that has 3 K, its the nickname "Guy" he actually worked a hell of alot..he made apples for like 4 straight days and then made pies for the longest time...

I can't explain, but it happens. I've seen screenshots of people doing so. Heck, I was playing with one using it, and saw the obvious effects.

They're easily used, I remember from my Inphektid days. Bring up Graal, bring up the trainer, hit F4, save the level. Look at the flags, add NPCs to the level that edits the flags, get back on the server, hit F4, load the level, you have whatever you want.

You can't save online levels.

Saving levels doesn't give you Scripts on those levels. So the feature is pretty useless.

Exactly.
The only thing to worry about would be the leaked levels/scripts that were floating around.

It's pretty useless, true. But the point is that you can.

How?

There are some mostly outdated graal2001 scripts floating around the internet. Emily Tannare used to host these on her site but I convinced her to take them down, many other sites still have them up but I dare not link them in public.

Googi, however misinformed he/she/whatever it is erm.. is, believes that with these missing scripts somebody could fill in the blanks if they had grabbed a level off graal and edited it and somehow launched it again and saved it onto the online mode.

Impossible? I think so.

Sheepiroth 09-08-2003 01:49 AM

Hm, Rob's money is 75% mine anyway. Since I'm in his guild we were working together to get a Playerhouse :D

But then we bought one for only 400g, while we had like 2.5k, and the money was redistributed between the people that actually DID WORK.
