A bit out of my style

I tried doing a level in the style that seems to get the happy faces. I hope you guys like it. (NOTE: The purpose of the dark spot is shown in the second attachment)

[EDIT]Ok, there was apparently no need for a second attachment.[/EDIT]

It's sparsely detailed...

I know that. It's completely different than what I usually do, but people keep saying that my detailing is awful. I might as well start from scratch I guess.

Decent, shadows on house need reworking, though. Detailing is fine, but i'm an oldbie, what do I know? ;)

Azrael528 08-27-2003 07:14 AM

more detail would be nice....tip: use some elevated grass and dirt tiles. and then look around the tileset for other ground tiles you think look good

ETD 08-27-2003 09:01 AM

OMG, am I the only one who actually took this as a joke?
:p
i'll rate it anyways, 1/10

lol, i'd piss on that level too :P

SingleChance 08-27-2003 09:19 AM

i also thought it was a joke at first...

protagonist 08-27-2003 04:21 PM

Like I said, this isn't my style. I figured I'd try it anyway.

Nick1988 08-27-2003 11:12 PM

I don't like it. Not many features or detail. 2/10, that style isn't very good, but nice try, I guess.

Dude6252000 08-28-2003 12:46 AM

Your level is ****!!11

That was tempting.

But seriously, it's not that good. 3/10

protagonist 08-28-2003 01:48 AM

Ok *goes back to old way*.

I've just been seeing some pretty crappy levels get 8/10 for no apparent reason, and they had less detail than that.

XD Im pretty sure that doesnt get happy faces

NeoJenova 08-28-2003 11:16 AM

Wow, you need a lot of detail and... this was a joke right?

1/10

I don't think I would even enjoy walking in that level.

Keep trying...

Kind of like how you do you're job, hm? Just because I don't like you I'll throw in a level from a little while ago.

Sorry to say, but that level is much better than the one you posted.(My opinion, don't freak out)

The path isn't very good, I still think it looks better than his level.

Eric_1337 08-29-2003 01:35 AM

lol, I think both of them as jokes. :o

the first one was a poorly made house and grass and trees. The second one was grass thingy's, generated trailing, and a cave and trees. =-o! la la la funny.

I'd suggest trashing you "style" and learn from someone who knows how to make levels.

Well, that excludes you then.

I didn't think it was great either, I just wanted to see what the responses would be.

P.S:For the record, I do not use the level generator for anything.

TB3 08-29-2003 08:44 AM

I dont usualy rate things but so im not giving it a number im just giving it the "Average level" reward because it is a low detail average level

(And off subject if we werent so used to seeing the same graal tileset over and over and over a level like this might seem pretty nice to walk in if it were in a new tileset because the surroundings wouldnt have been something you had seen 12 thousand times )

*note this is just my opinion i dont want to even spark a reply* ;)

Eric_1337 08-29-2003 09:35 PM

I'll reply anyway,

if that were the case, which it most definatly wassn't, there really wouldn't be a need for a levels section, it'd be considered the graphics section -.-, because it'd just be based on how the tileset looks. Thats like saying "If I were blind it'd look better".

That is stretching it a little if you were blind you wouldn't know what you were looking at anyways :D
