Start message?

Well, I wanted to get a message across to my staff when they come on RC's but i was thinking, is it possible to send a pm to an RC when he / she log's on?. I was wondering because it would help on development on what to edit etc... Anywho, thank's for reading, if you know the answer, reply :)

..I recommended this awhile ago. Nobody ever listens to me.
I asked alot of Globals to ask Stefan to set something up LIKE RC -- where you can set the topic, greeting, or news... and such.

Well we keep having to say it dont we nothing get's done, look at the guild centre. Is that done? :p
The more we say the more you will get sick of hearing it, and you will possibly have to add, depend's on what we are asking.

Hey, in case you haven't noticed, we are the ones sick of hearing it, not Stefan or unixmad.

Try scripting it, It's possible but i think it would possibly get mixed up with trial account's. and may cause lagg.:)

I said WITH the new engine, there will obviously be an easy way to make it lag free -_-

osrs 08-20-2003 11:34 PM

Jagen, Snakeandy has repeatedly proven that he can neither read nor think. Why expect him to be capable of either?

You are just proving Tseng's point, it is being made, as in not done, as in can't be tested for lag yet

Just wait for the new engine, with the fact that the playerlist will be scripted, that gives the incentive that it will be really, easy to do this.

KainDaMan 08-22-2003 11:20 PM

How much different will the new engine be from the current? Will it take a long time to get used to? because I don't know if I want the new engine from what I've been hearing...

it's a lot different, it's more like c++, why wouldn't you want something better than the old one?

Kaimetsu 08-23-2003 02:35 AM

It's not objectively better. Personally I think that using it will be fun, but I don't like the look of some features. Too high-level.

And, it's not like you have a choice of whether or not the new engine exists. It's coming. You can choose to remain in the past and use the old, deprecated commands, but it would be wise to keep up with the current way of doing things.
