Graal Music Team
 

Here is an idea I was thinking about, the GMT.

There would be about 5 members of the GMT.
2 People who make mp3s..
2 People who make midis..
1 Person who does both, the leader person.

This Graal Music Team would make midis (and
possibly mp3s) for playerworld managers who
asked for them for their playerworld. The GMT
would also create midi packs and mp3 packs
that would be distributed along with the Graal
client (when you download graal from setup.exe)
that would give playerworld owners more
music to choose from for their playerworlds
instead of the old stef midis.


I was interested in this idea. Tell me what
you guys think. :)

What about SFX
Like walking/water/screams/etc.

I don't know who makes the sounds now... But
it could be possible to get people who make
sound effects too. :cool:

I doubt theres enough people on graal that truly make their own music/sfx to even form a team :\

And if there was, they would get flooded with waaaaaaaay too many things to do, since they're so rare

I know there really aren't many choices for names, but isn't GMT already taken?

Also, I guess the idea could work, but it seems like there will always be a problem with stolen music. :|

Not to mention that everyone would start to do them.. Also.. I don't think many people actually listen to graal music.. I know I don't.

I listen to it off and on, but mainly Two Kings in Hadinland.

I would like to see some more instruments on 2k1.. Sure they could do it.

I made GFX for a harp but lost them many a day ago. I could remake it but I think it would be hard to find the sounds for it.

there arent enough people to form a 'team', besides I don't really see the point, the GST exist because we moniter onlien playerworlds' npcservers, the GMT would be useless because there would be no point for an official title and no point in giving them any power

You never know...I know of myself and bo0ey who do it. Synergy does too supposedly but his credibility is in question.

This would not work however without a mess of paperwork because all works would have to be proven to be owned by the creators and there would have to be agreements between Cyberjouers and the members that the music could only be used for Graal, etc. It seems to be more trouble than it is worth. If unixmad wanted to do something like this I'd be more than happy to be a team member however.

As far as power and titles, you would have the title, and for power I assume you'd get your own folder in each playerworld that is requesting music (or perhaps a global development server like debug could house the music and sound effects). The only power you'd have is upload rights to your own individual folder. No need for anything else.

And basically they would have no power, and
actually wouldnt even need a title.

And I can tell if a midi is stolen or not, I have more
midi checking gizmos than anyone on earth, and
I deleted like 100 stolen midis from DD when i was there
(and got rights removed from music folder for it)
(Dont really see why they needed 30 blink182 midis though:()

And all midis would be check when they are
submitted so there wouldn't really be a problem.

The person who made the Kingdoms music is Bjørn Lynne.. hes norwegian. He does sell his CDs (It's 15!)... some 18.99$ and some 14.99$... He have also made music for many other games, like the Worms series, Seven Kingdoms and lot of more...

I think some of his music are nice..



Also, a GMT would be great for the managers...there ain't many music composers on graal.

If you're going to waste your time with a music team you might as well with a levels team as well. To ensure the quality of levels being put on servers are at a reasonable level and to help some servers out who are having problems. :p

If you want to help so much then post on the playerworld's forum section, dont go asking to be made into global, and because bo0ey would be in it, that's practically asking for power, 'lets make this team so i can get global rc' (im not saying you are doing it, but thats what bo0ey or whatever sounds like to me), and not even the global gfx team had global rc, they just had adminlevel 1 but no ip range set so they couldn't go on rc, why should you get it if the global gats dont/didnt, a server for developing music? that's just plain stupid I think, the scripting server exists because you need to be online to script things with the npc server, you dont need to be logged on rc to make a music file

I think the midi and wav pack of graal is already very huge, and something like this is nice but not really needed.

I don't care about globality. It's overrated. I have a music job already on Shifting Ages. I agree with you mostly and like I said, I'd only be interested if unixmad wanted to do it, which I doubt he will. There's too much work involved to make it happen.

I do think that the best way to implement it would be a development server however in the method I described (each member gets their own folder and nothing else). You wouldn't get global RC because there's no reason for you to have it. You'd just get your folder and that's it. I don't think that's asking for much power. Sure you don't need to be online to create MIDIs, but you do need a way to transfer them from your computer to Graal. That's what the server would be for. Again, I don't think it's that good of an idea. I'm just suggesting what I think would be the best way to do it IF it were implemented.

Yes, but unfortunately (no offense to the creators) most people don't like the default sound effects and music.

I'm not saying that you did without a doubt. I'm just saying your credibility is questionable.

I doubt this team will be formed but if it does happen I would like to recommend two people who worked for UN making sfx and music.

It is hard to find good people who don't steal there music but I can reassure you, neither of those people steal sounds and were a great help to UN in the Sound Department.

Well maybe he would, I dunno. But he got high very quick, so maybe he wont. He works on classic doesnt he, unless he left. Well I think he does Levels there.

He's the LAT administrator there :O

I remember we hired him for sound on UN he did an awesome job. Someone recommended him to Stefan or something, he got a job making sound for him. Then became something big in Classic for a long time... Some reason I want to say he had a global RC at one time. I don't know.

Mostly because he didn't like what we asked him to do. He enjoys making more music then sfx we mostly asked him to make sound effects. He makes really really nice music though. He is also a good person. <3 Rage <3

Souldrinker is classic lat admin? That is seriously pathetic, stefan fired him on debug for acting like an ass, and he did things like logging onto debug while he was high on drugs, no I am NOT lying so don't accuse me of that, I saw him do both of those
