Why doesn't Nova just help the Trillian people incorporate a Graal messanger into Trillian itself? One that'll load the list of people on every playerworld. I guess Graal would have to work with this to make it work? Have it so you can tell who's not playing, but is only on messanger. And make it so those people can be muted from the server (unless banning is actually necessary...though the only thing after being muted would be their name, and their name should be displayed to graal players as the graal account name...). Oh, I know! A VIP and gold feature!

But why should they he use trillian? He already has started working on his own program, I think switching to an already made chat client is too late for now. Besides, what if Trillian doesn't even accept this? Trillian would most likely be looking for something that would attract all kinds of internet users, not something that maybe only 100 or so people will want to use.

Projectshifter 08-19-2003 07:09 AM

I'll talk to Stefan and Unix when I get a chance. Perhaps it'll be in the new version where we could incorporate such a thing. It would probably be less of a server-chat thing though. It would not be possible at this time to have a client connect and be able to send PMs because you'd have to be in a level (RC is special). Perhaps though we could make something that uses your graal username and pass and is a messenger system and can bring up the serverlist and things to see what's going on, a playerlist would take a bit of work and incorporation into the new exe I'm sure. I bet with the right help we could make something that is able to have RC functions and you could log into the fileserver or NPC Server of a GServer (with proper rights of course) and do stuff. Would make it a lot easier for people who have multiple RC's (i.e. globals ;))

"MSWINSCK.OCX on one of its dependencies not Correctly registred: a file is missing or invalid" -fixed

I am uploading it to my ftp :\
Gamespy is evil

wait,
I'll need to enter my Graal ID and password? :(

if you have a gamespy id :

if not:
http://www.graalownaz.de/hosting/dow..._messenger.zip

brock128 08-20-2003 03:18 PM

Do not use this program.

Entering a graal id and password is asking for doom.

marcoR 08-20-2003 03:52 PM

I used it, trusting nova, no big deal really, tho i didn't have zonealarm open and; seeing as it doesn't "really" connect, i'll have ot check. don't take it personal, but i'm paranoid

superb 08-20-2003 06:44 PM

I don't trust nova after all the negativity he's been spouting here.

thelostviking 08-20-2003 07:57 PM

Can anyone describe the function of the graal messenger to me?
You log on with your account and its like only the member thingie (f7)?
Or does it include stuff like aim and more =P.
If yes you could use the gaim source and simply add graal (i dunno if something like this is possible but oh well).
Well 4 words, its your free time.

Christian 08-20-2003 09:34 PM

Its simply AIM just called Graal Messenger :(

TribulationStaff 08-20-2003 09:40 PM

Eh, I think Nova would be in a bit of a problem with the government if he registered the software under a non-profit organization and he used it to to fraudulently obtain paid accounts.

NovaNET 08-20-2003 10:32 PM

No, You use a username and password i create for you in a day or two ill have my signup page for my beta final test until then closed beta.

NovaNET 08-20-2003 10:36 PM

Currently yes its just a standalone AIM like messenger customized with graal graphics its own server and protocols. But in beta final the final additions will be added such as custom graal smilies, graal news, graal stats, graal messenger to graal messaging which means you send a message to any graal account and it will deliver it to them on graal. Plus icq style offline messaging. The client will not connect anywhere it's set to connect to 127.0.0.1 or localhost at this time. I welcome you all to be patient and wait for the beta final test then you can all try it out online. Please post any suggestions!

NovaNET 08-20-2003 10:40 PM

I know the GAIM and KIT developers personally met them at linuxworld. I will be making a customized client based of GAIM source and KIT source and will be getting help from the gaim team and from the gnome team to work on it.

You goto Linuxworld and develop in Visual Basic.. :) Interesting.

Unless there is winsocks for other languates too.

Winsocks is just a part of Windows. VB can talk to it, but C is better at doing so.

Me and Ibonic found that very amusing as well.

NovaNET 08-23-2003 03:46 AM

First off i hardly use VB anymore... the reason the beta was coded in VB was because at the time i was doing course work in college and was taking the CIS 18 class which is the visual basic segment of the CIS Associate of Science Degree and VB happens to be a required course for a CIS degree in california. Secondly i hardly ever use VB now i have the IDE installed for .NET but havent opened it for two months. I am using C for the new graal messenger and the IDE of my choice being DevC++. And my reasons for going to linuxworld should hardly be criticized by you could you shell out $499 for a General Pass alone? let alone the $1398 i spent for two days at linuxworld. And just to go more in depth were you offered a job by LinuxWorld Magizines Chief Editor also the Editor at Syscon and a executive for techtv... or is a article being done in ComputerWorld magizine about you and your co-workers being some of the "Elitest' SysAdmins in the Bay/Silicon Valley Area.

Go Ben! LOLz. DevC++ is nice, but I think mine is missing some dependencies because it doesn't compile worth anything... I keep coding it in DevC++, and when things won't compile I go to visualC++ and compiling =*( It sucks =/

:( geez don't take it personally.

I just assumed you would be more likely to use something other than VB if you were into Linux.

Didn't mean anything by it.

Hmmm sounds neat but i could hardly care less. Cause even after it's been released unixmad always find a way to make extra cash. So i belive you would need a gold account in order to use this or some new pay plan system like VIP in order to access it. Cause if nova is adding features for us to send messages to a account on graal, anything to do with graal must cost money. There's already a rumour going around soon you would need a gold or vip account to be staff on any server? Graal makes me mad

You need a Gold/Vip Account to be Staff..

Neoreno 08-24-2003 10:48 PM

Gold/VIP to be staff on any private payerworld. Otherwise, just classic.

Ziro_Vitrudestec 08-24-2003 11:23 PM

Graal should just charge yearly all together, and have an amount of days trial based system. It's getting frusterating when you pay for a gold account, and you keep losing more features (like G2k1 going classic).

NovaNET 08-24-2003 11:31 PM

The removed their AUP/TOS page .... and such since they updated the site. Thus anyone purchasing VIP or Gold since couldnt legally be held to such terms. And since they advertise certain options and recently changed their mind about just about everything they have breeched a agreement with the majority of graal's players.
