When is Graal3d coming out!?

When is the stupid Graal 3d coming out I want to test it soo bad!!!!!!!!:grrr:

Dude6252000 08-19-2003 04:51 AM

That's a very risky way to ask things on the graal forums. But we don't know. ;x

Deek2 08-19-2003 04:55 AM

AFAIK, they cancelled it due to the lack of people working on it. There wasn't anyone skilled enough to continue working on the project.

Qwert616 08-19-2003 04:56 AM

I think it still has a little ways to go before it can be tested, but I am only guessing.

I guess this is more of a direct question meant for Stefan anyway.

Probably for criticizing the creator and owner of the game. ;]

Anyway, its not like they are sitting around. They have other things projects and assignments besides G3D.

Yes, because they just enjoy sitting on their derriers and watch little annoying people like you give these incredibly ignorant and false snippets.
Shut up, and don't make egotistical, self-centred comments like what you did.

Honestly, the gaal of people like you pisses me off.

okay... me too. Although, you have a two hundred point advantage over me.

Fiss 08-19-2003 05:05 AM

Yea they do have to work and stuff but they could reset 2001's server levels players and stuff really fast!

What does that have to do with anything about there work ethics? Stefan and Unixmad are wayyy to busy, and calling them lazy is both ironic and idiotic. And to add to that, no, they couldn't reset all of 2001's levels, players, and stuff really fast. Nor would they have a reason or time do something like that.
AFAIK= As Far As I Know
Meaning from what I've heard about the project, isn't neccessarily going to be true :)

protagonist 08-19-2003 05:18 AM

Why doesn't 2k1 just have a reset player script hooked up to a string array?

Man, these acronyms are getting out of hand. :(

Too inefficient, according to certain members of the staff.

From what I'm supposing, that's going to be pretty inefficient to work up such a script for something that happens very rarely.
EDIT: But then again, maybe it's not. :)

protagonist 08-19-2003 05:28 AM

It hardly requires any scripting whatsoever. It'd be more efficient than not doing it at all.

This has been said many times before. It is touched upon in the following thread.

Also mentioned here.
A more detailed reason was brought up somewhere else, but I don't have the time nor patience to go looking for it.
I believe one reason is the fact that the script requires the player to be online for it to work. Therefore, people that have information stored on the server, and haven't/won't connect for some time to come, would still have the old flags, items etc.

Yes, it is. Which is why I also wonder why they think it's inefficient.

As soon as Unix resets the accounts on 2K1.

protagonist 08-19-2003 01:54 PM

The point is, they don't need to wait for unixmad. There is no fault by adding a simple reset script that adds account names to a string array and /sendtorc /reset #a.

Note to whoever mentioned flags: You can't add flags to the account to tell it to reset, because they flags are removed from the account when the reset happens. This creates a paradox of resetting.

brock128 08-19-2003 03:34 PM

As soon as stefan stops working on 2k2, and needs a new "love child". What? He abandoned Classic, and 2k1, both were very popular, so he makes a new server? Basically, everybody's just going to follow stefan, whenever he feels like making somthing different.

AlkarenHyralt 08-28-2003 02:40 PM

Quite simply, never. Should have guessed that from the start. There hasn't been a fully completed major project since 2k2 was released.

The new scripting engine is being worked on first.
And at some point the PW rating system needs to be developed.
As well as a new RC.

Yo, that method isn't failsafe, someone couldn clear the strings, plus then you have to mantain the script, since string arrays have a limit on how long they can be

It's been said a lot, the new RC is going to be done with the new script engine, right now I think I'm in charge of the project, which is going pretty well, progress is limited since now all the things needed to make it are made
