Ya I was kinda going for that but I might make it rounder and have some more flaws so it dosnt look so shiney. Also the water is almost done now.

Thanks for the tips I would post a screen but im completly ignorant and I dont know how to get my tiles into the game. I will say this I always make shure my tiles dont have any very ugly errors so I copy and paste them up and down to check. Also I did some more work and here is more tiles.Oh btw I didnt get around to fixing mushrooms yet but I will.

Yeah I cant get the water texture down very well and I didnt just want to have a blank blue square...
|
Take a look at my addtiledef2 tutorial to get it into the tileset.

The shading is fine. Only thing is all graal looks like a cliche of one another. Try giving it blades and make it look un-flat, other than that I like it.
|
The grass tiles are so-so... looks more like some kind of bumpy green surface. I sugest making the highlights in the grass more line-ish to give an illusion of blades... the mushroom seems fine, althought it could be rounded out a tad....
I hate the beach and water tiles. The water's color looks like if you swim in it your skin will be burned off... A solid color (cept where the depth changes) would actualy do better than the texture. For the water, some kind of gradient would be better, if you want to make a convincing illusion of water. I dislike the beach tiles, because its a bad contrast to what it looks like you are trying to aim for. Also, it looks like you use a airbrush tool for most of the textures. You're not using it enough. The sand doesn't look grainy enough, although the soil almost looks right. If you're using a 'shop' program to do the airbrushing, I sugest you increase the dencity of the brush for the water and add shadows here and there for it. If you're using *shrudder* ms paint, then I feel sorry for you, and what you've made is then actualy failry good considering what you have to work with. |

I agree about the water, it looks like radioactive waste ran into it or something. |

you can do a lot in paint. :O |
WOW....well everyone else seems to think its fine but the beach tiles have been bothering me im going to change them some I did use the air brush in psp to make the soil then I changed the contrast and made it sand lol but I will add somemore grains I tried to make the water like eras water sort of but screwd it up im gonna fix it thoughand add soem sea shells and stuff like tiny rocks.

It's nice :)
