Everybodies doing it!

Isometric graphics! So I figured I would give it a try. Please tell me what you think, and go easy on me, this is my first ever try at doing isometric stuff...
I also know that there isn't much in the graphic like details and stuff, but I got tired of working on it. :P |
*tears hair out laughing like maniac while running down the street* damn this cold! elsewise this is amazing, absolutley amazing
|
I like, except for the window on the right :X
how do you people go about making things like that :( *graphic-stupid* |
9/10?? one window is bigger than the other and it looks weird. other than that its amazing
|
he really did a good job, he did great shading, he put texture on his stuff (something I am too lazy to do) and he just.. did a great job! especially for his first, im jealous, so 10/10 and I assume the window is suposed to be bigger, it's a picture window!

and how long do those take you to make |
hmmm, since I put minamal effort in- about half an hour, at tops, and this is a plee people, ASK ME TO MAKE YOU SOMETHING, WITH LOTS OF DETAIL, AND EFFORT, I HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS AND IM SOOOOOO BORED, PM ME WITH DETAILS!!!
yeap. |
It's nice, but I wouldn't call it amazing. The spacing between the lines on the far side of the roof looks unconvincing.
|
amazing for first try :o
|
The longer window is supposed to be a double window... I just got lazy and only put one vertical border instead of two, so it lookse like I just stretched the small window or something. :p The door also isn't centered, which was intentional, but it kinda makes the house look off-angle or something.
Oh, and it didn't take me too long to make... I did the house details with the line tool in paint of course... Most all of it with the line tool really. (and the paint bucket) Also, the grass and road are the same tile, just different colors. :p Not to mention that I just used the spraypaint tool in msPaint in order to "texture" the grass and street. :D Thanks for the critiques though. All your comments were good. :) |
I like it. The right-hand window does look wierd, but I do like where door is placed, I think it wouldnt look as good if it was centered for my personal taste heh.
2 Things tho: 1) It might help to lighten the line for the Edge of the curb on the sidewalk, you know which I'm talking about right? 2) Just a question, why put those vertical lines along the edge of the grass on the bottom? I cant figure what that would represent. EDIT: Oh you did that along the edges of the road too, I guess that shows the edges of the tiles you used, but you could have erased those lines after completing the image :D |

How come everything me and Delph make people copy ? :( We made Era and their was 2-4 servers going up that rips. We start making a Isometric world and I show Konidias how everyone is making gfx like it. I gotta stop showing people what I'm working on? :/
|
\=| uh angel, I only started this because 1. I saw one of that guy's work a while a guy, with the worms. 2. I 've never done this before, and that's about the only thing in GFX I havn't done, I didn't even know you were making a iso server, and I doubt many others did, until your thread

I don't really see a problem with people doing isometric graphics... they aren't making graal playerworlds out of them. We just did them for fun... at least I did anyway. You can't claim people are copying your idea though Angel... I mean come on, seriously... you didn't invent isometric games. :P |
Exactley, and If you didn't want people to know about your server, why'd you just say somethign about it
|

and to the other guy, People were gonna see it when it opened like they did era. Then everyone started doing modern style pw's and stealing all ideas it was lame. Anyway this new pw im working on it 20x better than era. And No gun's this time. :p |
don't make an economy either! it makes the game suck because people become cruel...etc...

An economy helps make the game more entertaining. |

It looks nice. The only thing I can really point out is the windows and the roof's shading. Someone already posted about the windows, so there's that. I'm not sure if anybody has mentioned this but the shading underneath the roof should be more triangular.
|
Very nice koni, as usual.

it sucks ass. for god's sake, this graphical style is the easiest I've seen, and it never looks good, partialy because it is so over used. the graphical style is what I'm basing my rating on, as it gives cg graphics a bad name. other than that undeniable fact, you did an ok job copying the style, although its not an achivement. |

I'm very well entitled to state my opinions, even if I feel like being a grumpy basterd.
And you imply that the said style of graphics take skill? I wouldn't criticize something I didn't know about, naturaly. attached it some more noteable parts of a tileset I made once for a darker, more medieval graal server that never got off the ground. it would be my fist work at bitmaping, and the end result didn't have the same je ne sais quoi, so to speak, because it had plenty of other graphical styles involved. I'm only including some of the bitmaped parts due to relivancy (rather a screenshot), and so some basterd doesn't copy the whole thing. but regardless of weather I'm capable in this graphical style or not is irrelivant because the point is that I feel that this style is used far to much and it grates on the eyes after a while. |
(you're irrational) but it's true, you don't have to be beautifal to say someone is ulgy.

I'm glad I made my point clear :) |

You said that that style was the easiest. I just wanted to see you do one since its so easy. And your tiles are so stupid, they are so easy that anyone could do them. They are the easiest things ever. EVER. ;) Oh, and its bastArd. Not basterd. |
