Stefan.. you PM'd me wrong.

A made a thread a couple of days ago about Graal being a business and how playerworlds had to wait forever because unix went on vacation. Well Stefan deleted it and PM'd me saying that unix is still working even though he is on vacation and should have everything hooked up where he is so he can do what he needs from there and Stefan said everything should be back to normal Saturday night - Sunday morning.. well its Sunday evening here thus being almost monday in France or wherever Stefan is.. We have waited a week for our server to be reviewed plus many others have already payed and are waiting for them to go up. Please please come on.. we've waited and waited this isn't right.

Spark910 08-03-2003 11:51 PM

Yes it would be nice to see them done soon. Im getting lots of IMs about it. However I dont mind too much as I wont be here in.. 4hours 15mins! =D But yeah I do mind really, hope they 6/12months havent started to tick away just yet.

Snakeandy7 08-04-2003 12:25 AM

yeh, i wanna play aknt's (Spanky's) server!

Myomoto 08-04-2003 12:27 AM

Stefan is a human (I think :P) You humans need to learn that your not all-knowing! Only some demons are, and not even i am all-knowing, so rember, only some few demons is all-knowing, therefor, Stefan was wrong when he said the date it appears ;X

Anyway Stefan said ''Unix will..'' not ''I will..'' Stefan cant be blamed if Unix has problems and cant get online.

Yes, because this is obviously a life or death situation. ;[

An example that doesn't really apply to this situation...

Spark910 08-04-2003 02:19 AM

Calm down, you will still get your moneys worth.

TB3 08-04-2003 02:25 AM

LOLz mine got accepted along time ago and I paid like *thinks* 4 or 5 days ago for the year package and mine still isnt up. I got an email saying that it was up and it even gave me a link to a page to start/stop it but there is no option to start or stop it lolz. Im sure he will give back the lost time when he gets it fixed but in the mean time do like I am doing and make some onlinestarlocal type levels for people to pop up in when the server is put up ;)

ETD 08-04-2003 04:52 AM

For all of you who do not read the PW section, or seemed to have missed Stefan's post on this subject, i suggest you read:
http://forums.graal2001.com/forums/s...8&pagenumber=1

he DID reply to the subject... he said the everything SHOULD be ok again by thismorning... he might have been off, but at least he posted in responce to the questions everyone was having...

for those of you too lazy to look, he said:

Comparing a life and death situation to graal is PURELY nimrodic. It has no place here. If you want to talk rational, than fine. Patience is a virtue. Here, let me give you an example if you want to put it into so context:

Guy: Doctor, hurry up and sew up my leg! I don't have all day!
Doctor: I'm trying ::works fast::
Guy: OW! That hurts!
Doctor: I'm sorry, but I accidently cut your artery and you're going to bleed to death, there is nothing we can do.

Satisfied now?

Heh that doesn't really apply either.

Neoreno 08-04-2003 10:09 AM

This may be more the appropriate situation.

Guy: Nurse! When's my appointment?
Nurse: Please be patient, sir.
Guy: But I have a cold!

Still not up.. there are no new servers or anything.

unixmad 08-05-2003 10:24 AM

Yes i was on holidays but i am back and very busy, 2000 Email and like 200 company stuff to do.

Also we are setting up a new European Datacenter for hosting Player World but it take a lot of time to test everything.

Stefan have installed Graal software before leaving on a new Bi-processor server but it have crashed yesteday, so i need to go to the datacenter and see why the computer crashed.

So please wait a few more hours, it should be fixed today.

He can't fix everything in 3 and 1/2 hours.

Just be patient, he has a lot to go through after being on vacation for a week.

As true as that may be, it could have all been prevented.

He said the server crashed, any smart person doesnt just uncrash it and leave it to run, they find out why it crashed, then they find out how to fix it, then they fix it, then they test to see if it will crash again, then when they are satisfied, they'll put it to use, things take time

you should know better by now, than to go by when they say
=X
no offence to unix or stefan... but they always give overly-optimistic timeframe of when things will be finnished

I am quite curious as to how 'it could have all been prevented.'
