Particle Effects

This is a part of scripts that I really see as underused. This is a very versatile part of GScript, and I thought I would show some of my screenies to help promote it's usage. This first one is in development, and it is ALL light particles. While it can't be seen here, the whole thing is animated.

While less visually impressive in still, these ghost skulls move in an organic way thanks to fractal math. Just proof it doesn't take a lot of lights to create a neat effect.

Here is a three for one.

Fog, a fountain, and the flame in that lamp. All done with lights. Although, admittedly, I did use a different light than usual in the fog to spoof the appearance of more particles than there really are. Still, something to think about.

Also, just so you know, that bright spot by the fog is the firefly version of the ghost skulls.

Now that I have shown you what can be done with particle effects, I will gladly answer any questions related to the subject.

Using fractals for simple floating skulls is deliciously overkill.

There is a reason lights are underused.
Simply, because not everyone can see them.

a) People turn them off to increase frame rates.
b) People can't see them (incompatible video card).

Trust me the fog is so pretty! You gotta see it moving.

what do you mean by fractals? like an image having a "tail" or something?

No, a fractal is a mathematical concept. You've probably seen them rendered at some point or another - most likely the Mandelbrot set. Does this look familiar?

Wow they look really good;), why dont you post the script to help teach people on 'Tribulation', Im sure quite a few people would like to learn about it :)

Actually, for the comet, which is the script I think you mean, I already did in a way. The base of the comet is my graphing calculator.

Thank you.
