I'll answer your question by opposing another: Is it really that big of a deal and does it bother you that much? I think it has to do with the fence being an NPC. Either way, not too often do you stand by that part of the fence for no reason. :whatever:

Sorry, I couldn't resist ;). Anyway, this doesn't affect gameplay - doesn't even make itself known like some other bugs use to. Also, have you checked whether it happens with every fence, on every kingdom? ;)

Easy to fix... just unequip your weapon and reequip it...

Its not even a gani problem.
You equip one weapon, hold D to hold your shield, equip another different type of weapon and bam the second weapon holds the first weapons looks.

Try it, hold a dagger, hold D, switch to a flaming sword and you'll get the same look.
