CHeck your options, maybe you set something in it.

deman1171 07-19-2003 03:00 AM

How so? what should i look for? what options?

Thought 07-19-2003 03:45 AM

Is this in-game text or on the GUI too? (like the login screen)

If it's in-game text, what video card do you have?

By hitting f1 and going to options, look through those.

deman1171 07-19-2003 03:56 AM

In-Game and its some nvidia or something...It didnt start happening until we got that....and it sucks its slow on lighting effects..Could that be it?

tlf288 07-19-2003 04:03 AM

Get the latest drivers from here. Install them, restart your computer and report back soldier!

deman1171 07-19-2003 04:23 AM

Gahh i have the latest one for my videocard/type of windows...Do you think if i used my OLD Video card it will help?

tlf288 07-19-2003 04:28 AM

I have no idea. I would say try it out, but wait untill someone who knows more about these kind of things replies  .

deman1171 07-19-2003 04:35 AM

Ok, try this, I had a similar problem but I can't really know if my problem was the same as yours:

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel

Then go to Display, a new window should appear, titled Display Properties, change to the Settings tab, then press the Advanced button.

A new window, titled (your monitor name) and (your video card name), something like that.

Switch to the tab named after your video card, it's probably named something like GeForce (model name/number).

A new menu should pop out of the side of this window, look for Performance & Quality Settings in the list.

Now, there should be three slider bars, titled Image Settings - (Selected Setting), Antialiasing - (Selected Setting), and Anisotropic Filtering - (Selected Setting).

If the Antialiasing setting is at anything OTHER THAN Off or Application, change it to Off or Application, however, I suggest Application.

If it isn't, then sadly, you do not have my problem that I had.

Attached is a screenshot of the window I am talking about...

No problem, I had this same problem, it eluded me for a couple days before I finally figured it out. :)

Kaimetsu 07-19-2003 05:44 AM

Anti-aliasing breaks Graal? I wonder why.

It doesn't break it, it just prevents any in-game text from displaying, but yes, it is very odd.

Projectshifter 07-19-2003 07:47 AM

You need graalonline staff WHY?
Honestly, this is a problem with your computer, nothing that we're needed on. Get the latest DirectX or something.
I have some issues with my vid card, but you learn to deal with it ;)
Like my text always shows on layer4 I think instead of readnig changeimgvis, so it appears, but I dunno, new engine will fix I'm sure.

Dealing with absolutely no text, or very little, isn't the same as a graphic that isn't transparent.
This needed Graalonline Staff, (well, evidently not the coder, or a figurehead) to fix, because this was a problem that was experienced solely with the Graal program. Therefore, the makers might have heard of the problem before. But that's just my standpoint on the matter.

Because it is related to Graal.

I would think it more preferable for Stefan to figure out why it doesn't work and fix it rather than say "that is life".

Soul-Blade 07-20-2003 12:43 AM

Bah, no worries. PS commonly says stupid things.

Thought 07-20-2003 12:50 AM

Yes haha, I love going to the scripting forum and reading that thread where he did the hello=hello+1 thing and Kaimetsu kept saying "Nope you're wrong" and stuff. That is by far my favorite thread on the forums.

Projectshifter 07-21-2003 11:30 PM

THanks a lot SB and VT. It means a lot to know that people like you really care that much.
Oh well, no big.
Anyways, Graalonline makes the software, if there are bugs, then Stefan tries to fix. But most games that are worth anything, have driver issues with certain video cards. If you notice, almost everyone of those games, tells you to get the most updated drivers and directX and if that doesn't work, wait for a bug fix.
Sorry, but nVidia has good gfx cards, but they're super incompatible most of the time =x

Kamuii, I'm just using the one on your site instead of uploading it to mine, since this is the only time I'm using it.

I have never had a single problem with my NVidia GeForce 2 MX 400 64mb card, in all the years I've owned it. Neither has my brother with his GeForce 4.
*shrugs*

I've had more bugs with my single Radeon 8500 than I have with all of my nVidia cards put together. When I build another computer later this year, it's going to have an nVidia card in it. I'm going to try to save up for the high-end FX Chip. (Not the first two models of it.)
