The backround of it alone is 1 solid color, you should layer it in somehow. I don't know what programs you are using but eh...Needs work is all i'm saying. Keep it up, you can only get better with practice:D

much better now=D if you have a project that has a more 3-dislm feel to it try and shade that corners much more instead of having a huge black line try to shrink it down to 1-4 pixels then the rest have different shades of the main gui, just as a side note for the ammount of space its probobl going to be 15-20 pixels so every pixel go down .5-1 of the circle on the selector of the previous color...thats complicated lets put it this way. if you go into the big pallete on paint you have this circle mouse icon. well depending on the spcae (like i said this is small) you make the next shade around .5-1 of the mouse circles darker/lighter depending if you want it indented or embossed. if you have a.5-1.0 increase/decrease in shade/tint then it will look much better. if you didnt get one word of what i just said basically have a gradiant only with out as much blend when you magnify up close. using paint or photo shop for the matter, this can be a pain for big area's so you will need time. i'd also try and make the stat bars embossed and the money bar a little more flared for the border such as making it almost like a web bar on the black outline and then use 3-d shading so 2 pixel right column is lightest the top and bottom is medium (just a little darker then the main color) and left is darkest. if you want you can apply this to all the boxes including the arrows and bombs. also the bomb looks square and if you use the circle tool it might help. the boxes for inventory look good and if you are gonna keep that border deffinetly make it thinner i cant stress that enough. im sorry if it seems like im flaming you or making you feel like doing the hole thing over but it would really bring the things alive =D

As you could have guessed, I didnt read your post. Please, try paragraphs. :)
But you can still shade in paint.

Birdbird_0 07-12-2003 03:19 PM

I would say somthing mean, but I'm not.

I'm going to clap instead!

TripleE 07-13-2003 07:40 AM

It does need alot of work. I think you need to work ona good color scheme, and maybe make things a bit smaller. Also try to use shading on the edges to tyr to make a little indented so it isnt so flat.

Zen and I both use paint and we manage to make good graphics, doesn't have to be 1 color. Zoom, Custum, 800, ctrl+g, pixalation is the best way to get good detail
