Global Uploading
 

Globally uploaded heads, shields, bodies, and swords. Will this ever be reallowed? I remember a while back on the website it had a submission form to submit your graphics, but I haven't heard anything since then. Is it still allowed? Someone fill me in. :confused:

I thought there is a global location for these things currently still?

I dont think they have it anymore Spark. To much turmoil with the submit thing on the old website so they never re-added it or the web script junk got messed.

The new website has been in use since about new years, give or take a bit, I dont really remember to well. Ever since that point, the gfx reviewer interface in AdminCP has been non-existant..infact I dont even think AdminCP was preservered..

So yea, for about 7 months or so its understandable why new heads, shields, and swords havent been uploaded globaly, right? Well long before even that the system was buggy, images I rejected or uploaded were not cleared from the queue. I've been the global gfx admin getting close to a year now, and it has always had problems in the admincp interface. In the beginning, KawaiiSaria gave me her user/pass for a seperate control panel on the website, I believe it was webcp. It was just a temporary thing, until I got my own access setup or until management finally got around to removing her rights after retiring. Anyways webcp worked better, it just took longer and was more of a hassel because it was less organized and less automated, but the images would start working on all servers shortly after uploading at least. I havent had access to that in a long time tho..

Oh on a seperate note, Stefan has talked of making some website features integrated into the game client, or RC program, using graal script or so. Like global guilds for sure, and maybe globaly uploading images.

Hopefully this can be made again. Maybe Nova can build a new AdminCP while he is working.

anyways.. i do think there should be some way to upload globally upload heads, shields, sword and such...
i was thinking like for each (upgraded)account it can have 2 or 3 things being qued at a time and they're uploaded into a folder for zen (not sure about how much space this would tak up hence the 2 or 3 per account) then he reviews them and walla... Zen would just have to have admin access to the folder on the site ^_^

upgraded accounts only to prevent ppl sending in a million bazillion gfx with a whole bunch of trial accounts...

that's my suggestion for what to do.. i know that it's not even close to the top priority at the time unix is working on PW buying and steffers is fixing version 3 and working on new scripting engine

anyways.. maybe some1 who's not doing anything will recreate the global uploaderizer ^_^ it was fun

Upgraded accounts can submit a flood of gfx, too - a smooth way for every hacker to annoy and get an account into trouble, anyway. Then again, I doubt every account (or at least every upgraded account) is used by someone with enough skill to submit anything at all (me, for one).

And, if I might ask... why globally upload, as there are differences between the PWs (gk and classic as the strongest example) and some PW owners don't want certain gfx on their server, or don't want others to have access to theirs? °°
