The level is kind of dull. Don't really like the grass details. 5/10

The sand detail is terrible he needs to use all the different sand types. Plus the rocks (but dont go overboard on rocks) the water looks like crap its nothing but a bunch of lines of water as opposed to puddles or streams or what not. Basically his entire elvel is nothing but lines of different tiles. The grass on grass goes in lines which is bad. The house tiling isnt any good it looks sloppy and not thought out, but then again that can be said about most of the level. Basically he needs to stop think about how he wants the level to look and then make it. As it is now it looks to me like he's just trying to fill up space with the grass/grass, grass/water, and grass/sand tiles. All in all I wouldn't say its omg terrible quit now! With work and practice the person who made it could be a fairly decent level maker. It has potential. :)

Oh yea and the grass. Its to square he needs to use the grass tiles near the lower left of tile set on edges to give it a rounder and more natural look.

Okay, well as you new, heres a tip: Dont over crowd the level. Having some areas that are some what blank to some extent is fine, of course big patches of nothing would look stupid, but covering all 4096 tiles with something other than plain grass is a bad approach.

House:
Okay i'll start with this, overall a good use of tiles, some errors but that is because of the tileset, maybe make a more interesting pattern, and not just a chequed. The trees dont look too good, as the tree stump is behind the building, but the top is over the top, so maybe dont have them as they look weird.

Cliff:
The cliff is good as you are new to level making, look on the tileset there should be some cliff tiles without them white lines to make it look better.

Detail:
This is the main problem. Its too much and over the top. The dirt path, you should use more tiles and less of that plain brown one. The raised and lowered grass, dont make too many layers of this, else it doesnt look that good. And dont rely on the pond generator. But overall its good, keep making them, and have a play around.

ermm i think the liking it was sarcasm ;) ...XD

anyway, 2.5/10. Nice try though.

1. the building is just ugly, especially those treetops.
2. the cliff is nice
3. I like how you at least used the tiles and detailed the grass, but don't have groups of water detail, then grass detail, then sand...mix it all together or pick one, it looks funny like that in one level.

funnylinkwantsbomys 06-20-2003 07:23 PM

1. Crappy tiling with path...
2. Nothing special about the level just another old useless one
3. Use custom graphics...it really helps the level outs.
0/10

To whoever made this:

You are new, you can basically ignore most /10 scores here, as they are comparing you to every level they have seen.

Wait for some more advise, ignoring the fully negative without explination posts, and make changes and learn from your mistakes, and keep on making levels.
