Kingdoms Ideas
I think that there should be a slew of special features inside the Kingdom Castles. There should be a smithy, where members can craft special weapons specific to their kingdom. (BTW, since I'm in Zormite, most of my examples will be Zormite specific, but I think these suggestions should apply to all kingdoms). For example, the Zormite Blade should ONLY be craftable inside Zormite Castle. This gives Zormite a monopoly on that weapon, so it can sell it pretty much exclusively in player shops. Futhermore, the Zormite Blade should have additional benefits if weilded by a player with his/her tag on. If that player is kicked out of his/her kingdom, he/she then cannot get this added benefits. There should be a larger variety of kingdom specific equipment, such as the Zormite Scale Mail and Shield. The Zormite Wand should also have benefits for Zormite members (though Zen said Stefan said it wasn't possible to add such things to wands). These kingdom specific weapons should only be craftable in the castle of that particular kingdom and only if the player's crafting skill is a certain level (I think crafting is a physique or mental skill).
I agree with another post that said there should be kingdom dungeons--these dungeons should be stocked with appropriately themed monsters. Also, the story behind the Zormite blade says it is made of a material only found on Zormite...but there is no such thing--and there should be! A blue ore that can only be mined in the dungeons of Zormite. Also, about the Gods, they have nothing to do with Graal...they Celtic gods for goodness sake! There should be Gods that reflect the history of Graal and *gasp* are fully functional! :-P |

I agree on all accounts, minus the gods. Once gods are fully balanced, they'll work just fine .. although I think it should be possible to add a new god every so often, so long as it is properly balanced.
|
I agree with most of the ideas, as seen in threats before, except - wow - the gods. I quite like the names as they are, no matter where they originate. I'm also hoping they'll get balanced sometime. I'm uncertain though whether adding new gods will help - Brigid and DianCecht (does he have a single follower?) are quite unpopular as I see it, so there lies some potential to balance them, before you add new fellows.

Locke follows (or followed) Brigid, and rules (or ruled).

I think all those are good. But the god's are fine I think. Mybe some gods should be expanded more and more thought out.Maybe a kingdom god or something would be cool. |

I guess DianCecht will be the bottleneck when I start my collection of short skull swords with blessings of each god... well, except Brigit, for obvious reasons...
But I think it was suggested before, it would be nice to have cults for every god - say a house next to the altar, and even a special tag - like High Priestess XY of (Ogma) or something - the only problem would be to find a way to incorporate or have it work alongside with the kingdoms... |

Altar inside house, house around altar.

Exactly - for monks or whatever you call them to live, worship, maybe some kind of system that strengthens the god while people pray to him without blessing, on the long run maybe to defend the altar in religeous wars or whatever... °°

Make temples and the altar in the center.

Exactly what I meant - maybe have some rooms only for high priests, but then again this qould result in some kind of sub-kingdoms with the first priest at the top - then again, why not? ;) Still. Rooms for followers or something like that would be nice

Okay, i made a crappy quick image for some temple. This is Govannon or Ogma, as it has the shape of a helmet. (Ogma's Orc Helmet, Govannon = god blacksmith). In this example i'll use Ogma cuz it's faster to type ;P.
In the center is the altar of the god Ogma. Left is the 2nd God's Creature. Only a select few can pray to Ogma, the high priests. The selection depends on level or amount of praying. If you change gods/start praying to Ogma, you first pray to the 2nd God's Creature. It will grant you the ability to bless to, ehm, what's Ogma's thing? Oh yeah, Giant and Goblin (cuz those are gov's enemies ^^). Well, you first bless to Goblin. With Goblin you only have the ability "Slay Faery". After you, let's say, blessed 5 weapons, or prayed a long long time, you can pray to Giants. Giants add the ability "Slay Dwarf". After you blessed 10 weapons, have a certain wisdom level requirement (depends on every god), you can bless to Ogma himself. Now your sword poisons, and is of Ogma. This will make blessed weapon a lot more special. Also, the temples should contain statues etc |
Maybe you could have a main altar in a building. And Behind the altar is a room where only, say wisdom level15+ priests, can go. The back room can make weapon enchanting go faster. This would make priests a lot more important.

I like the idea of gods having sub-altars for their creatures, maybe 3 rooms in a succession - or one large room with 3 stages, you have to pray your way up, along with different artifacts (one for the first 2, 2 for the god itself) and blessings, and even when you're good you'd have to bless your way up all the three levels. Followers of the god's enemy should be either banned from these rooms or allowed to enter, but be attacked by the apropriate creatures - this way you might have to defend your god, but then again, Brigid would have quite a hard time... Maybe the temple should be guarded by some special cretures or things (poison clouds for Ogma, vines for Brigid etc) depending on the number of priests avaliable to defend...

Then the high levels will keep on getting rich and strong! Make other requirements x.x Like a lot of praying. Text for getting new creature to pray to (Govannon): "You are granted the divine honor to pray to Dwarfs" |
Î agree with the level requirements, that wouldn't work... there should some kind of system based on experience, but not level/exp - maybe time of pointless praying, i.e. without blessing in mind, just to praise your god. You could also sacrifice valuable items - maybe not diamonds, that king of value, but maybe items you can craft somewhere and carry with you for a while to make them special, whatever... or a finger from his enemy's followers etc...
|
Yes. It was very in common to slaughter a cow or something. Maybe sacrifice your pet, and you gain another "Praying level". At level 5, you get the 1st creature, at level 10 the god :\. But make the maximum of pet sacrificing 3. Praying for 30 minutes is another level, max. is 5. Then you have 2 more points left for gold, diamonds and food.
|
All of that is really an unessesary waste of time that could be better spent somewhere else, I believe the only thing that will be changed is so you can sacrifice items to your god to speed up blessing, etc.
|
I don't think it's a waste of time thinking about what could be done - I certainly see that any changes in that part won't be made untill the rest is about to be completed.
