Enjoy.

Spark910 05-27-2003 05:18 PM

Chimney is cool.
Windows are magical.
Nice light from the windows.
Not so sure about the doormat though

Soul-Blade 05-27-2003 05:47 PM

Looks great, but when are you going to show something other then a house? :(

mhermher 05-27-2003 06:22 PM

Heh, soul.. once i finish the inside tiles then ^^

Won't take long.. all i need to do is like walls, then perhaps some other stuff like beds or stuff :)

Mykel 05-27-2003 07:47 PM

Looks really nice. But how come you didnt add this to your other post?

mhermher 05-27-2003 07:56 PM

This is about outside tiles, not the shelf and stuff :)

I like.:)

Knuckles 05-27-2003 10:15 PM

I don't like the grass, the way the chimeny connects to the house, or the house. =o Sorry. O_o.

G_yoshi 05-27-2003 11:16 PM

Hmm, I must say that I am definately impressed :) Keep up the good work.

Add me to AIM, SN: TyrialAdiarde

We need to talk.

PS: Me > You.

Knuckels.. didn't you say on AIM that you said the tiles were very nice or so?

Do you say that you don't like them now because i critized your tiles? Well guess what, i said what to make better and not, so if you really don't like it, tell me why.

What tiles did you critisize?
On AIM, I said your inside tiles where ok, and your grass sucked. I didn't say 'very nice'.
You then showed me the houses, and I just said cool -- 'cause I wanted to goto sleep. =o

I seen the house like 20000 times =X, and like I said. Idon't like how the chiminey attaches onto the house. The bricks and stuff just arn't impressive. That's all. And I don't like the wooden window shutters(SP?). And the wooden border in the front of the house just throws the angle off.

NEW SHIET!:

konidias 05-28-2003 12:09 AM

I'm not going to say anything about the fact that some of your tiles appear ripped from my house design... So I will go over your house and point out things I see that should probably be fixed.

1) The window shutter things. It looks like a rush job, and doesn't match the rest of the house tiles. Plus, where is the end? It looks as thin as cardboard without a edge on the end.

2) The perspective. The chimney doesn't really seem like it's at a 3/4th perspective. (well not the correct 3/4th) You should see less of the front side and more of the top. Remember, 3/4th is like a 45 degree angle.

3) Your house tiles lack detail. Aside from the little bottom border thing, all the tiles seem pretty empty. The roof, the chimney bricks, the house bricks, the wooden support beams, the windows, the door... It all seems empty on the inside. Nothing that's really drawing your eye to them or anything. I mean come on, straight lines a wooden beam does not make. All your wood is just using straight lines up and down or left and right, for the most part, and it doesn't give it a wood feeling. It gives it a cardboard feeling.

4) The lights in the windows are... Well, how can I put this... It looks like you've got two Suns in your house. If you're gonna do lighting, do lighting using an actual light script. If it's daytime and
the windows are open, you wouldn't see that much light in the first place. Think about normal situations and relate them to your tiles. During the day you'll probably not see light shining from in a window, but at night, you'll have light pouring from the window out into the grass and stuff. Not just shown inside the house.

mhermher 05-28-2003 12:12 AM

Koni: I did NOT rip any tiles from you.. but thanks for the rest, it was constructive. :)

Here we go again with the "omg you stole my tiles."

It's not "here we go again". I've stated this a long time ago, and he's just still using the same house tiles, so I'm still going to say they were taken. I just find it hard to believe that his house turned up looking so much like my house style that it would make me notice it so easily. It's not like I'm nitpicking a single tile, his bricks, roof, (original chimney), all follow the same exact design as mine. There are thousands of ways to make a house, so what are the odds that his house would look similar to my house in the same online game, with rival playerworlds? You'd probably have a better chance getting struck by lightning while inside a bomb shelter.

Did I say "omg"? No. Are you a total *****? Yes.

Err, how else can i make a BRICKS roof?
Circles? No.
Bricks? Yes.

And the chimney is not the same, so stop comming up with lies. :o

Soul-Blade 05-28-2003 12:40 AM

Actually, I agree with Konidias on this one. The houses do look VERY similiar, a little TOO similiar.

G_yoshi 05-28-2003 12:47 AM

I believe even I have said the same thing before :o

I guess people just don't trust my TileSniffer(tm) :(

Cynicism 05-28-2003 12:49 AM

I too must concur with the notion that the tiles do have the likeness of Konidias' tiles..

Well, it is kind of obvious. I mean, you compare my PW and your PW, they are obviously different. Why don't people make things original, like the people who started it all...alot of these new things just seem like rip offs =/.

.... Those look like Kondias house...

konidias 05-28-2003 02:38 AM

It's not worth an effort trying to prove that the tiles are similar. He's seemed to have talked himself into believing he didn't copy the design, so no amount of evidence will be enough to prove him wrong.

I just think it's pretty ridiculous. I agree with Soulblade, there are TONS of house designs. Why are there so many similarities between our two houses? Bricks are bricks? That's not an answer. There are LOTS of ways to make bricks look. Small bricks, bricks with cement in the middle, bricks with the edges rounded off, bricks with different texture, bricks of a different color, etc.

I just find it impossible that you have a brick house of nearly the same color, with a roof styled like mine, of the same color, and a chimney thing of the same design, and support beams with the same design and color. You're just too afraid to admit that you DID copy it, so you just ignore the problem or constantly say you didn't copy it. Just grow up and admit when you're wrong. It's pathetic.

Actaully that is a common house design but its not very likely that he dident copy you. There are some differences but Most likely he did copy you.

Maybe he saw that house image of koni's a long time ago and then forgot where it came from and made one on his own not consiunsly(sp) thinking that it was stole or "ripped" somewhere. A lot of ideas are based on other peoples work.

superb 05-28-2003 05:24 AM

Not very likely. To me it looks like the same tile, only recolored.

mhermher 05-28-2003 10:02 AM

The tiles are not the same, they might look the same.. they don't have the same outline, same color.. the back might, because thats the only way to do double bricks.
The chimney? It don't look alike to me..

And the borders do NOT look the same -.-
Koni's use 2 of them, mines 1 and mine don't go to the roof, mine go to the other side of the wall -_-

I can say that i also am stummed, when i saw donalds screenshot, it does look the same.. but who said my house is done?
It won't even look like that when it's done.. atleast not what i think of..

mhermher 05-28-2003 10:40 AM

Okay, i didn't want to say this before because i might get banned. (It involves another MMORPG)

Oh well, when babylon came up, we were working on another game, Babylon2 was it called, its now *** <-Censored.
Oh well, Konidias didn't even have the idea of Oasis, and i made a roof like both of the ones i have now.. but i formated and lost them.. it was like 4-5 months before oasis was a name.

I formated and lost all tiles i had... Lord Helmut had them and he showed them to people, perhaps he showed it to konidias? I dunno.. but i can tell you, i made tiles like this before konidias came up with Oasis.. Then one day LordHelmut started to ignore me, and i found out he was drunk.. and something had happend with his computer, so the tiles were lost 100%.

Now when i started Adiarde again, i though of those tiles, and remade them.. I do not care what konidias says, i will keep them, since i know i did not copy him.

He said it belongs to the one who publish it? Hah.. it's the same if i go "hi can i see some of your work thats not done?" -Sure
"thanks" *posts on forums, and it belongs to me*

I don't think so..

You may think whatever you want, i know as a fact that i did not copy him and i had those tiles waaaaaay longer.

Uhm, mhemer, I basicly said this in fewer words, without sayin anything about the lights and all you said was 'KK' and tryed to change the subject... I guess 'cause it comes from Koni you listen.

Yes, I agree also. I'm not saying you stole the idea or anything, BUT it DOES look very similar.
Only Koni's house is alot more detailed.

Oh, cool. Anyway, I see in your bigger screenshot that you changed the grass alitte. I still don't like. Mainly because of the way you bordered each blade of GRASS with the dark dark green/blackish looking color. I can't really say how to change it, 'cause i'm not that good with grass either... BUT something needs to be done =x.

mhermher 05-28-2003 11:08 AM

the grass is 8 tiles, 4 tall, 4 small.

That level wassnt to look pretty, so i didnt take time :)

Nooooooo, there's just something about the way the grass is designed. The layout of it. I just hate the image. The grass doesn't look good. :-x

Darlene159 05-28-2003 03:45 PM

I like the grass, it has depth when you look at it, instead of appearing long when you walk in it :)

mhermher 05-28-2003 03:57 PM

Thanks

Spark910 05-28-2003 04:46 PM

Maybe look at some different colour roofs and walls not just red and grey all of the time.

HoudiniMan 05-28-2003 07:08 PM

Your grass is a fire hazard... lol but it looks ok.
Make sure you edit your "walking in grass" gani to make it uber cool ;)

He should re-write everything and get new ganis. As alot of people have custom tilesets, but when you pick up a bush for example, it goes back to graals default sprite. Or there should some way to change the sprite like you can easily with tileset, is there a way?
