This person is saying he is going to threaten stefan if he accepts my playerwolrd in the future...

ZanderX 05-08-2003 03:59 AM

Haha, he's an idiot.

Not having a permanent IP address. Bwahahahaha. So long as he's connected to the internet he'll always have an IP address, though a changing one, and no program can change his IP address while he's connected.

Qwert616 05-08-2003 04:02 AM

I never knew that Sanstrata was such a hot item.

DSL IPs change, yo. Cable doesn't.

finChY 05-08-2003 04:16 AM

That is pretty lame that someone would waste their time saying all that stuff that wont happen lol. That screen name I think has messaged me before or something that looks close to that.

In any case, this log is worthless. It's just another hacker wannabe making empty threats.

1 I do not know Stefans email
2 Yes this ***** probably cannot hack for beens but it is good that Stefan/Graal know of this person because what if they hired him or something?

This may seem odd, but wouldn't you think it just may be "stefan@ graalonline.net" ?
Here is a quick link for you! STEFANS EMAIL

I get a kick out of these want-to-be hackers.

OMG Donald... x-x
Don't be a ****. Seriously. I don't want Sans backup either. I worked there when it went down m8 too. I say don't beat a dead horse, just let Sans stay dead. It was cool, but it will never make the come-back you hope. Just leave it be...

ZanderX, you CAN infact change IPs. There are simple things you can do. One being the basic command ipconfig and also their are lovely things called proxies m8 x-x

Do you know how many have said that to me? To just give up?
Well no I'm sorry I will never give up because I know that I am doing the right thing. Ive been working on this for about a year and I dont intend to give up because you want me to....

was it changed or something?

Most residential DSL nowadays is dynamic PPPoE, but some services like Earthlink and Speakeasy offer static IPs for residential xDSL as of late. Business xDSL is usually static, yeah...

DarkShadows_Legend 05-08-2003 09:04 AM

You should ignore those guys aim messages.

:)

yep, I have a business class SDSL based etherloop connection, which I pay too much for.. it's supposed to allow up to 4-6 Mbit or more, but my ISP restricts it, on peak hours especially

I think Sir Pickles downloaded from me at ~120-140 KB/sec, but that's only ~1 Mbit

I know it would go a lot faster if my ISP would allow it, but I think they don't because there's only a burstable T-3 connection from this "CO" (which is basically just a relay, it's hardly a building) to their main office which has much faster connections

"I should move" is what I've been thinking about and been told for at least a few years

I have Residential ADSL. It uses PPoE. Its not static lol. But i have a router that broadcasts one IP for all my computers. So It is kinda static. And your cant say All Cable is Static. I know a cable company thats Dynamic ;p. You can change your IP. release/renew. Will normally get you a new ip address. :)

Well, Cable as a general rule is static until you release/renew. Pretty much all Cable is like that. ^_^; At least, all the Cable I've encountered anyways.

TifaKhan 05-08-2003 10:53 AM

I sent Stefan a forum pm about threats to Doomsday and Graal itself.
I know at times the limit to the length of forum pms makes it difficult so i usually ask the person contact me immediately as its urgent.
There will always be threats against Graal, which makes me wonder why, because what glory is there in saying "wow i hacked a little online game called Graal". :p
Be something to brag about if they did something amazing like
hacking into the white house computers. ;)

Ibonic 05-08-2003 11:08 AM

there probably isn't much that this guy can do besides cause annoyances.. unless he plans on doing some kind of physical damage to people or buildings etc. related to Graal, which in that case would make me believe that he has some kind of problem which causes symptoms such as uncontrollable and possibly dangerous over-reactions

ipconfig is more of an information tool, the only way you could "change" it is by renewing an adapter, but that won't always do anything :P

& proxies don't change your IP.. you just connect through them & people can't see your IP

Ibonic 05-08-2003 01:13 PM

if the proxies aren't truly anonymous, the originator IP is still able to be seen, and may even be logged in some cases (X-Forward is one way)

__

even if you could change the IP address, it would have to be one that your ISP owns and allows to be assigned for your connection... so usually if your IP class is banned, "changing" it isn't going to matter unless you switch ISPs or happen to be lucky enough to find a completely different block that your ISP allows be assigned

with my DSL connection, it's not even really possible (without splicing outside phone lines etc.) to set my IP to anything else because their network is set up to only allow this IP to be used from my phone line/number, and the same applies to the other people who use it -- although that doesn't apply to most connections, I guess

also, if your ISP uses DHCP to assign your IP and you try to set the IP manually, it usually doesn't work out well .. especially if someone else is using or ends up using the same IP as the one you choose (sometimes it won't even allow manual settings and the data won't go through to any outside network, even though it seems to be connected)

Can we get some clarification on this please, so that noone sends emails to a wrong addy? :|

draygin 05-08-2003 03:55 PM

I've always e-mailed [email protected] and gotten a response. Although the last time I e-mailed it was when Shadow Knight was still in charge of Providence so its been a long time.

melissa1988 05-08-2003 05:39 PM

Hmm...I think this will become very interesting when IPv6 is fully implemented. :)

I have 458 posts over 1000. I only needed 1000 for an avater and letters above my avater. Why would I just post 458 more posts for a post count raise? There is nothing to get out of it...

Cynicism 05-08-2003 08:50 PM

Yeah I probably shouldent take them seriously

Satrek2000 05-09-2003 09:04 AM

Such people - be it hackers, kiddies or any other kind of bored person, tend to devote the more attention to you the more attention you devote to them. Whoever it is that threatened you, he'll be laughing about this threat as a sign that you're afraid enough of him to kinda ask for help or something. Just ignore them. When he does something illegal, you can take reasonable action, but as it is now, I'd rather say you did what he intented ;)

Stefan has stated he will not read his e-mail anymore.

Best bet for everyone is to upload a text file and then PM him a link to it.

Excuse me while I laugh...

You constantly say stuff about Sanstrata... everywhere... It's strange really, but understandable.

Sanstrata was a great server, but it was alow count server. Many of oldbies quit, other don't want to return. Sanstrata will have around 10 player on at a time, maybe 20.

Ok anyway... I am against Sanstrata returning from dead, because it has been done 5 times while it was online, and I only liked the very first Test level version (It was 2 levels... but GOD it was good, I even had my remake of that somewhere -.-')

Dude6252000 05-09-2003 04:38 PM

Donald, how many times do I have to tell you, people just make those threats to see you freak out? :|

Tseng 05-09-2003 04:50 PM

Am I the only one who finds the wording donald used (You can't stop me) somewhat interesting? Like he is some supervillain or something, and has some diabolical plot to destroy your favorite superhero :O
