if i have

lucky boots that gives you +15 luck

They were nerfed because they were too good. You don't always have to blame somebody.

It's great i suppose
Although if it was me i'll be doubtful..can get up to 26 int or so and failed a lvl 2 spell with that. Don't think it affects if ur learning skills though

zell12 05-07-2003 09:26 PM

Luck, int., and your mental level all determin your chance on a successful learned skill, spell, or prayer.

The boots were switched from +15 to +1 - Aengus gives +2, so why should boots be that much better than a god? Also, what dies 1 luck stand for anyway? 1 int? 10 int?

No idea whether it was me you're thinking about °°

Androk 05-08-2003 01:45 AM

They nurfed them too much. It could have been +5 Int and required 4-6 legs. That wa they are hard to get, but still possible... I want my Lucky Boots to be Lucky!

Satrek2000 05-08-2003 07:28 AM

As we don't know what 1 luck means, and how it can be expressed in terms of, say, int, I think it's okay that way... °°

Luck doesn't just affect things that Intelligence affects.. so that's not logical. It's fine as is, really. Some of the things people used to get from random alchemy that were luck items (or even sorcerer's hats of Lythander, which are still attainable) only have +1 luck, which obviously worked well for the original game.. so don't knock it o.o

Satrek2000 05-08-2003 07:21 PM

Uhm... how exactly does random alchemy work? Without recepies?

It worked when you had less than 5 intelligence and threw some items into a cualdron. You had a chance of 'fumbling' the recipe, and you might get one of the alchemy items.

If you are baking cookies, and you are dumb and do some wrong things to the mixture, will it turn our right? Probably not, and will result in something different. That is what happenes with the alchemy. If you are doing a recipe, and have low int, you will screw up, creating something else.

However that was since removed, and will never be back. :)
Oh, and Lockeboy guy, luck does affect if you learn things or not. You get lucky. -_-

Satrek2000 05-09-2003 08:28 AM

Hm... so if you put random stuff in it you get nothing, but if you put the right stuff inside you might get something different?
Like the diamond of great value, you're making first aid potions and sometimes you get potion of second ais... wait a minute... you know what I mean - Is 11 int enough? (well, if it was removed it doesn't matter...) :D
