Customizable Quick Spells?
 

Now, the new Spell window is alright, but it's annoying to bring up in the middle of battle, when all you want to use is one specific spell.
Now, how about you left click the spell button, and it brings up the big window. Right click it, and it brings up a small window like the old spell list, which can fit maybe 3 spells in it. In the big spell window, you can right click the spell icon to put it into the quick launch menu.
That way, you can have all of your spells in the big window, and keep important spells like Large Bullet, Cause wounds, and healing in the quick window for easy access.

I agree that the window's a little too big than is healthy in battle - or just annoying in the dungeons. Alternatively, what about the possibility to get a spell at mouse-tip by pressing a key-combination, say shift+1, for maybe 3 spells?

You can just hotkey a spell to the number pad, that's up to 10 spells or skills or even weapons that you can hotkey, just tap the button, and you cast, I'm sure you don't need more than 10 spells for a single battle. I usually use only 2-3 tops.

The problems aren't hotkeys as such - but they can't do more than fire the spell in line of sight - with the menu, you can drag the symbol and aim - in any direction you need. So, there should be a way to get this effect without the bulky menu.

I suggested to Stefan before I went nuts, that the quick menus should be a ring system. Customizable of course. There would be 3-4 rings depending on how many spells they are. Something like the Bomymoon hat system, only more rings. :) It would be neat hehe.

I like that idea...maybe have 3 spell menu modes? one would be the ring, another the slim menu, and the last would be the current large one.
