Website Player Find

there should be a place on the main graal website, where members could type in a players account name or nickname and it would show what server the player is on, of corse if you used the account name then it would be more persice but say you used the nick name it could give you several matches on a few diffrent servers.

not a bad idea.

Yes I agree. Thats like IRC chat, where you can find a user. I think that would be a great idea.

But convenient in the long run, if you need to find someone urgently, such as a global, it would help.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing. It depends on how simple it would be to code.

We can live without it for now, we have survived up to this point. I agree, I wouldn't want Stefan or Unix haulting other projects just to do this, as that would be pointless. But maybe when 3D and 3.0 are all sorted, they could have a go at it, but until then, i think we will survive.

It's a great idea and it should probably be on the client.

Milkdude99 04-27-2003 04:42 PM

I would venture to say not too hard , first it would search the database to validate the account name, and since Graal already tracts the number of players online then tap into the online players and search for the account. :)

It's a matter of location. Believe me as a programmer when I say that it's not necessarily simple. It might be very simple, and it might be very complicated. It all depends on how the network of Graal servers is set up.

I agree

could make it so it sends information to somewhere when you click connect, that tells which server you connected to.. but that brings up the issue of disconnecting & the server connection failing :x

well i was going to say put it on the game client, but i wasn't sure if that would be a ton harder or whatnot, becuase i kinda stole the idea from this site i saw where you could search for current members playing Counter-Strike and UT2003, so i thought it would be a nifty name for graal.

MadWolf 04-28-2003 01:50 AM

I would wait extra if they implemented this into 3.0 :]

melissa1988 04-28-2003 06:32 AM

I wouldn't! I want Linux Graal! wah!!!!

This is a good idea for the future...but we've been promised Linux Graal since around New Years!
