chat client

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a special chatclient? it would be like the rc without rights, and normal players could use it to access the server list without the regular client (but wouldn't count for the player count).

it should also be so any account type can talk normaly with it (except jailed and banned accounts) on any server, however they cannot have a player online and use the chat client at the same time, so the playerlist wouldn't get cluttered, and trial accounts wouldn't beable to pm normaly with thier player online.

Why? They can already chat on Graal. So how does this help? Anyone can also setup IRC channels for these things so why bother?

Well an offical IRC for graalonline.com or a javachat on the website would be good, as it could be moderated and be official.

It also requires a lot of time to handle :p I think how things are is more than satisfactory.

Kaiser2 04-26-2003 10:09 PM

Yeah...but sometimes you wanna talk to people, but you don't want to play and deal with *****s trying to PK you.

Here's something you probably didn't know:

USE AN INSTANT MESSENGER! Please use your brain. Graal is a game, not a chatroom. If you just want to chat with people then use AIM or IRC for that. Then you won't be bothered by PKers. :p

Kaiser2 04-27-2003 01:00 AM

No pause button on Graal Kingdoms, also, mass talking...like with more than one person, and not in a chatroom >.>

Um, 'mass talking' is the exact same thing as a chatroom. How many times do we have to re-itterate this? This idea has been brought up many times before. Graal is a game where you go online and play with other players not a giant chatroom. You'd rather spend money to sit in a graphical chatroom than a free text only? That's not very logical.

Tyhm 04-27-2003 10:46 AM

I just find it funny that people suggest a text chat option for essentially a lowres graphical chat room with combat.

MrGannondorf 04-28-2003 04:07 AM

you see, not every graalian uses aim, icq, yahoo, msn, and whathave you as thier messanger...
and not many are keen on the concept of such wonderfull things as trillian.
and there are other lazy fools who simply want to talk with other people on a graal server without the considerable amount of resources graal tax's thier computer.
and those who say graal isn't a chatroom has never played on un.

Also, I don't belive I said only pay accounts should use the chat program.

Kaiser2 04-28-2003 04:29 AM

yeah...what he said is what I meant..

Then you know what? Tough! Its not GO's responsibility for such things. Playing on UN is irrelevant. Its a game. People turn it into a giant chatroom without thinking. This is why I stopped playing TSO. Why pay for a chatroom that has horrible lag due to too many onscreen images? I can do that on Graal for a much better price if I so choose to ;)

MrGannondorf 04-29-2003 01:43 AM

well, the game is only what the vast majority of the players make it into.

I don't see why this would be hard to do anyway. besides, its not like GO's doing anything else, or atleast hasn't shown so.

That is not thier interest, however. Despite what players think or do, GO still has the control over where the game will go. I highly doubt a chat client is on thier list of things to waste time on.

melissa1988 04-29-2003 03:46 AM

yeah, they waste enough time with useless features on Graal Kingdoms lol sorry for the pot shot

MrGannondorf 05-02-2003 05:05 AM

The players have no power in what happens to the development of the game. The masses however have a slight influence.
and I'm sure that makeing a cheap client to access the server list wouldn't take more than a few hours to make...
