i dont understand how i can get my joypad to work with graal :(

Can you elaborate a little? I mean does it just "not work" or what kind of problems have you been having?

1) Make sure its in the right port
2) F1, General Options, Controls, make sure joystick support is ticked. :D

its not a joystick its a joypad but graal only has joystick options :( and it works ive played game with it

ps. and when i click in slot #1 for the up movement and press up on my joypad it doesnt detect it :(

Well, if the joypad is working for other games, but it doesn't respond when you play Graal, then the most likely explanation is that Graal isn't compatible with your joypad.

Make sure you installed it correctly, and in your control panel, there is like a plug and play icon or something with a joy stick, go there and see whats going on. :)

i have everything works its just graal doesnt work with it :/

Mine works when you turn on joystick. When it looks for joystick, you have th have the controls set for the port that the controller is in. For example, if it was port two, set the controls to Joystick 2.
