Improve Weapon Damage
Ok, I was thinking, and something struck me. Improve Weapon Damage severely unbalances weapons with varying attack powers. For example, take a dagger, it has low attack power, but it is VERY fast. Now, add 10 IWDs to that, and compare it with the sluggish inferno sword of 10 IWDs, NOW which weapon is greater? the dagger of course, because at that point, a few measly little damage that made a big difference in the beginning makes no difference now. IMO, it should be changed to this:
Every IWD adds damage based on the original attack power of a weapon, like, 1/2 of the original attack power, that way, an inferno sword with 10 IWDs would have an attack of 60, whereas a weapon with attack power of 6 have 36, instead of 56, makes more sense, doesn't it? |

Then doesn't it mean that you should be smart and upgrade a fast weapon ;)

IWD makes fast weapons slow anyway
Currently, without IWDs, a dagger would be weaker than an inferno sword, but hit more often, but with IWDs, they're nearly equal in strength and the dagger hits much more often, that's why this should be fixed, since when was a dagger more effective than a sword?
Yes, I can pwn anyone... well... almost anyone, with my dagger, just I am too laggy :(
Yes but most daggers and whatnot start out with a low base damage, meaning the bigger weapons already have +5 or something more damage on them, so it's like they have a free IWD. Also, you can use lower weapon weight to lighten your weapon, and I *think* that will improve the speed?
Indeed Konidias.

Nah, i like it the way it is |
Lower Weapon Weight won't make it faster, just lighter, and listen, once you IWD weapons, 5 damage makes absolutely no difference, but daggers can attack faster, so they do more damage, c'mon, you know that's wrong.
Well daggers are daggers and swords are swords.

Kaiser2 agreed
i thought orginally this woudl be some topic with a lame idea. however, its not bad, BUT I also belive since this is a paid server...that those with daggers, should get repearations..for their daggers that would become ****tyier, same for those of us who wasted hours getting bile weapons back in the day >=| ::starts bishin:: |
Yeah, but daggers would still be effective, they're fast. I remember I was in a duel with someone using and IWDed daggers and he took out a large chunk of my health before I could evade his attack, basically everytime he got a hit on me, he got 2 to 3 more before I could move.
Kaiser, there wouldn't be a need to make this suggestion if Weapon Speed was implemented .. *sigh*
compare dagger attack speed and sword attack speed, I don't mean the numbers, I mean actually attacking.
I tried working weaponspeed once. Turns out the weapon has practically nothing to do with weaponspeed - it's a function of the player's speed, which is a function of weight. So if you have a pack full of stone and a katana, your weaponspeed is slower than if you have a giant freaking hammer and half a pack of stone...messed up royally. I tried working the ganis so you could set different speeds for different swords, either as a new field or as a function of weight - gani frames won't play sounds though. =_=;
I still don't mean weaponspeed, I'm referring to how short the ganis for each are, daggers are like *swish, swish* swords are like *shooo* *shooo*
That's fairly mundane. One can make the sword ganis go faster, but then all swords go faster. Then what if the swords go faster than the axes? Then what if the axes go faster than the daggers? Daggers than nagis? Then what if everything moves twice as fast as they move now?
I'd rather swords have degrees. Fast swords and slow swords instead of Swords Are Slow. A short skull sword and a naginata cut the air faster than a Diamond Sword. |
Still, Tyhm, a dagger would be faster than a sword, and do more damage, but it's just a dagger!! A sword might cut a man in half and kill him, a dagger might cause a small cut, or kill if it hits a vital organ, but that's hard when they're wearing armor, though a sword can cut through armor much more easily.
Now, look at Graal: a dagger nearly severes a man in half, and a sword can do the whole thing, but a dagger attacks faster, thus can turn a person into ribbons before he can react or even pull out his sword, that's just not right. |
