Adoption
 

I think it would be neat if there was an orphanage/adoption place where people put their horses and pets that they don't want up for adoption.
That way you don't have to abandon them, and people can give a pet a good home. You could like submit them there and give a brief description of the horse/pet your putting up for adoption. And if you lost a horse/pet there could be a lost and found place where people can put up signs like "Wanted: Missing horse. White Stallion named Crystal."

I like that idea. A good idea is that if a pet is left there for like 5-10 minutes without a peg it can just go in the lost and found for no one will steal peoples horses.

I don't think that'd work - imagine you're in a house with your pet, crafting stuff, and didn't peg it - so you're there to watch out and suddenly it's gone - not lost, ut still you have to take a long walk to get it back, specially when you're on a kingdom's island and the stable is on main. The idea in general is good, but I think it'd require the owner being saved along with the other information, or how could you tell that the real owner comes to fetch his horse? What about this, it works as you described but only when the owner isn't on, and the horse isn't in his house (or pegged, of yourse)
