rate level

Well, i made an outside level for fun. Rate it 1-10 and give comments to improve!
|
2/10
Add some more things, a house, water, more paths etc. Add some detail, that's what the public wants to see. |
It actually already contains quite some detail. About the house and water and stuff, why? Maybe it's the middle of nowhere! It might be a long road to some place!
|
I dont like it very much right now, try to finish it more before you post it on the forums. hehe
|
If it's a long road to nowhere then it's still not to great.
Mainly because I don't like the grass detailing. And also people like to see eye candy here. Notan actual practical level. |
my heart ::grabs chest and falls over::
just add detail man like rocks mix path types ect |
I'm a horrible level maker, but even I can use the path generator and add some random tiles in places :\ .
|
Can you send me the path generator?

- Most of it consists of default predefined objects.
- Try to make the path seem less generated. - Add a bit more detail in ome areas. Rate: 5/10 |

if he used the path generator, there would have been a LOT more rocks in the path... and the sides wouldn't look like that. but the level needs more filling... there isn't much too it... i'll give you a 2/10, just cuz i can tell you put time into that path =0 and for someone new at level editing, it probably took like 30 mins |
i used the path generator, just replaced the rocks by some sand-tiles, but they were all the same yes i need to fix that. A bit more detail, well, i can do that, more grass and such 'prolly. The level took me about 15-25 minutes, i just put a lot of time in the path.

Rating: Craptastic.
No details. Middle of no where thats fine. Remove all the single tile junk every where it looks really bad. Then look at previous examples of how people have done grass levels and try to develop a style similar to them. It will show you how to use the grass tiles and rock tiles. Also the grass to grass tiles so forth and so on. Needs work but given time it and more work it could be good. |

Well, i edited it a bit and added some more detail, whaddaya say?
|
The path is fine leave that alone. Concentrate on the grass. It's bland you have just single tiles every where. You dont have any clusters or anything. Look at ghost's level that I just responded in see how he did his grass? Do something like that only toned down alot more he has to much you have to little.

you're level detail consists almost of nothing but 2 tiles. Stop using those 2 tiles all over the level its CRAP! Clusters. Put things in group. Use grass on grass. (look in the lava tile section) Read and comprehend what people are telling you. You've been told in previous posts about what to do to improve hte quality and you completely ignore it. So lets make this simple. When you get the urge to put one predefined object by itself dont. Put a bunch of them together in a patch. |
I'll just wait for what the others say...

Hello there.... Well first of all, I think you were aiming for a level that just like a forest or an outside level, not a town like most levels on here. So with that in mind, you have put the path only at the moment. You need to do some other things around the side. I would suggest as your new to make yourself have as little as possible of grass. So try and do some water nice and wonky donky like the path (not straight) See Yellow Box Okay next thing, some trees. Try some overlapping tiles, that helps make the trees look nice and together and fills the level neatly and nicely See Blue box Okay with the level detail, it looks a bit spread out and repeative. First rule when level making with grass detail is Never right click detail, it looks boring as its too repeative! Look at mykels post for that example. Next rule, is use as many tiles as you can, and look over the tile set for some other tiles you dont use much. Be careful with tiles like the mushrooms and little rocks, you cant walk over them, if you are going to use them, put them really close to trees so that people wont be blocked by them. see Red box |
