2K1 Draisine.. on NP?
 

Err.. walking around on NP.. decided to see Geovanie's old shop .. (a sword/shield changer) .. well NOW its a 'railway shop' ... but the 'railway' is the Draisine with a different name.. seriously.. look at screenies. Its even the same GFX for the rails.. o.o;;

It doesn't matter if they were allowed to use it. It's still a pitiful lack of creativity.

You can use any graphics unless the owner/manager doesn't want you to. And the only server you can't use graphics from is GK, and of course NW, but that is never comming back since Unixmad doesn't have enough time and money to be working on such a long term project.

I wont argue with that but I thought this topic was based more so on the legality of it, not the creativity

I just want to note that the railway is more of a player-based thing

umm... meaning that it goes from Geo's shop, to Geo's bar thingy, to Geo's house... to a pool in Link farm, which is Geo's i think...

and it was submitted by Geo...

so this isn't something that is used to get around n-pulse really... and when Geo submitted it, MG, or Moonie probably have never seen that cart before, so they wouldn't have known (this is totally guessing)

anyways, it's like putting down a server, because one player house was uncreative

#2 We are allowed to use 2k1 stuff
#3 Geo wanted it in his house, he put it in his house

How would you know? How long has it been since you have traveled Npulse? And, how are we sinking low?
Take a look at the servers who are doing illegal stuff, and uploading illegal stuff, before you comment on an honest server.
About creativity...like I said, Geovanie wanted it in his house, so I allowed it, sue me

I know the gfx and the cart, I have played the server that it came from before, and you are right, it isnt used to get around Npulse, just geos underground tunnels

To #1: Come on, if you saw that on a server, then saw it on another server, don't you think there's something wrong? It's not about being fired, it's common sense.
To #2: Why is this?
To #3: So if someone's house had illegally taken NPCs, you'd upload them?
To that paragraph: You think he did that for post count? Trying hard to defend your server? And not many other servers have illegal stuff, (Except for the incident with thr porn on that one server, I forget it's name -_-) so don't harass them. And how do we know your is honest? What if you don't have permission?
To the Kai thing: Kai is just proving a point.
To last thing: It's still a might-have-been-stolen NPC, it doesn't matter if it's across the whole server or one level. It's still on the server, and should be gotten rid of. Why don't you make your own gfx and NPC?

1.) It isn't/wasn't illegal.

The only thing you guys are flaming about is the "lack of creativity" on N-Pulse, which is by FAR false. And if you ask me, stupid. Now, if you ask me if it was the wisest decision that they could've made, than I'd say "No". However, it wasn't a stupid choice either. AND the Railroad on N-Pulse isn't really effecting anyone; it's not even a big part of it. Only about 6 levels have railroad tracks on it -- Underground tunnels leading to other parts of Geo's area's. Besides, I think N-Pulse happens to be very creative and it has very mature staff.

Yea, I was fired on N-Pulse because I was fired frmo ET CHief long ago .. (3-4 months). Well, seeings as I was FAQ for TWO WEEKS and wasnt fired.. this is probably getting back at me for that whole arguement on how I despise Zido.. btw. Like a FAQ Job is THAT important to me?

I dislike those servers too, but it doesn't mean I can't comment on N-Pulse.

I'm not going to sue you, I'm just pointing out that it is a saddening lack of creativity.

The topic was based on the usage of the draisine. Most people may have been expected to comment on the legality, but it was not explicitly specified. There's no reason to restrict ourselves to that side of the issue.

These types of threads are generally allowed, I think. The forum is full of them.

Kaiemitsu, these threads are allowed because you allow them even though they break the forum rules, but its ok...what goes around comes around...as for your comment about knowing about npulse from reading this thread...thats funny
The thread was started by someone who is mad because he was fired from Npulse, he came her to start up a thread out of anger, and you leave threads like this up because you enjoy the arguing that goes on in them...I am beyond sick of it.
You cant comment on npulse or what we do, because you know nothing about the server at all

The thread is what makes me mad, and the fact that it was left here when it breaks forum rules, so the tracks and cart arent original, I accept that, it is true...someone wanted it in his house, and I allowed it...creative or not.

Mono Godoeososs, these threads are allowed because they do no harm. You've already addressed the legality issue so what's the problem? All it is now is an advertisement for your new feature.

I didn't say that I knew all about N-Pulse, I just know that you're low enough to use scripts taken from other worlds.

No, it is because of three reasons:

1) It keeps the players informed on this kind of thing. They see the complaint and they see you explain that it is legal, so they're not likely to make the same complaint in the future. They understand the situation, and that's never a bad thing.
2) It does no harm. You've addressed the legal side of the debate so all it is now is basically a thread proclaiming the existence of trains on N-Pulse. Hardly close-worthy.
3) It would be completely impractical to delete/close all threads where the players complain about things. People need an outlet for this kind of thing, and if we deleted it then we'd just end up with hundreds of angry players complaining about free speech. Maybe this isn't the ideal situation, but it's better than the alternative.

That's a pretty ridiculous statement, MGess. The fact that you uploaded the NPC indicates various things about the server, and I'm perfectly able and entitled to make judgements from that.

Well, I have to agree on this point, even though it wasn't addressed to me. There's no reason why Graal shouldn't appeal to older people as well as the younger dudes.

Is it legal to take other people's scripts and use them?

If the answer is no, then Nemesis will have to check out Geo's
house and compare some light's npc's on there to some on maloria, and that draisine to 2k1.

If the answer is yes, then that's messed up that people are allowed to steal scripts from other playerworlds and 2K1.

They ostensibly had permission to use the draisine. I don't know about the lights.

Though i've never heard of MG or MGess getting their hands dirty in code, i'm sure it would be fairly easy.

Kaimetsu, the truth is you are trying to find ay flaw possible with her, and I don't see why. They are both good people, and even before I knew "Mon God's" age I knew something was different about him. He didn't act stupid like a common Graal person, he was alot more mature and had more leadership qualities. Anyway...I don't see what every dislikes them so much. They run NP nicely, it is one of the few well managed worlds. It is a classic world, and I think they are doing a good job, and everything is within the rules.

If you want to insult a PW, insult a crappy one. There are plenty online right now.

I am being totally seriouse when i say that someone who had gone from n-pulse, to delteria when it came out... said he liked comming back to n-pulse, because of the 'old levels'

not to mention over 1/2 the quests are bugged, and have been for months... like the trifactor quest, which is supposed to take 3 people to finnish, now only needs 1... and the shield quest, you can just walk right by that one, with no problems, exept the boss... and the list goes on

Npulse is being updated and things added, and things changed alot lately.
And I NEVER ignore anyone unless they are just trying to be annoying...it just might take me awhile to answer since I genrally have mega-pm's or am busy doing something else as well as answer pm's.

you mentioned 2 quest, out of over 14..that isnt half
the trifactor quest was changed so that it only takes one person because I couldnt fix a problem with it, so it isnt bugged, as for the shield quest, I am aware of that problem, it isnt a bug, it is just something the person who made it didnt think about :\

I have struggled very hard to keep npulse as close to the original server as possible, we dont want high-tech, we want classic...I fail to see how you can make an assumption like that from using one thing from bomy moon

OMG, what are your problems?? yes, i am new here... so i have a totally unbias opinion about him... i don;t know if he has a bad past about 'bashing' people, or not, i have no clue about his past... but all i know, is that he didn't do anything seriousely bad here! he did not bring this topic up! he just made a comment about it, just like everyone else did... but for some reason, you all seem to think it's something bigger than it is.

this thread does not break rule number 7, since the only negative post was that Kai thought it was uncreative to use the exact same graphics as another server... and i am sure most of us can agree with that... but then again, you all took his comments too far, and made it into some big deal, which it wasn't ment to be.

about rule #12... this is the ONLY point where you might have a case... but not against Kai... since all he said was that it was unorigional... that isn't really that bad, i mean seriousely... and since it was Geo that put it up, it would have been an insult to Geo i suppose (if anyone), and i'm not sure if/where he works anyways... but anyways, the only breaking of this, was when Arc posted that things don't get updated often... then i kinda agreed with him, so i guess i broke it too =/

Moonie, about the quests... i could have gone on, and listed a LOT... i can think of more quests with problems, than i can think of quests that are fine... and my point was that these problems go on for months, without getting fixed... i didn't want to focus on negative things with n-pulse... if i wanted to, i would have done more than bring up a few quests... you missed the point. my point was that things go un-noticed for months... and not little things either. this isn't ment to 'bash' n-pulse, or moonie... i am just stating a truth...
