I always thought that guide jumped too far ahead at some parts.

Put this in an npc (in the level)

NPC Code:

if (created) addtiledef tileset_era01-main.png,,1;

dont worry if you dont under stand that just now. If you do a forum search for "newbies scrip bible" there should be a thread with a scriping guide that you can download. Thats where i recommend you start.

Read that, ask questions about anything your unsure of.

Many parts it does jump too ahead, and it doesn't cover all of the commands and explain things in full detail. It basically shows examples of most commonly used commands. It has a lot of nice examples though, but you may want to read up on them first.
These files are quite helpful
Commands.rtf
newfeatures2001.txt
newfeatures2002.txt

Those can be found in the folder Graal2002.

I also attached the old npcprogramming.doc

I would advise using the npcprogramming.doc to start, that's what I used to start. I printed it out and read it whenever I had a chance and when I was on the omputer, I would test and such.

Why, he wasn't asking for any scripts, he just wanted to know how to script. If we shun those who seek to learn, then Graal will find itself short of scripters quite fast, because there will be none to replace those that leave.

You're quite right. Alienating those with a thirst for knowledge never did anyone any good. This forum has always been, and will always be (hopefully) a way to get feedback and assistance.

Oh, and you've misquoted me. Both effigy and tyrant have exclamation marks. :p

(Edit: Hooray for the power of clarification!)

How is it you strive to be PWA and yet are unwilling to help those in a field you excel in? Being PWA is not just reviewing PWs but helping solve problems on PWs like Staff issues between a Manager and a Staff. If you cannot even help someone who wants to know script how are you going to help solve a problem on a server? I see no desire to be helpful and open minded about things something you really need to have to be a good PWA. Your post really disappoints me.:(

It's your typical "OMG u suxorz lame ****, go away. I roxors youer and i r leet".
