Would you...

...Play a PW without fighting, at start?

Well, basicly I will say everything. My idea is as follows.

I want Shifting Ages to be many things. Of those things, I want it to have many different roles to play. I feel many PWs concentrate to much on enemies, and battle. I also feel that other activities can be just as fun. Basicly, my idea is that in order to even use a weapon, it would require alot of training and much mental power to be devoted enough to do it. So, I believe I will work on other various aspects, other then battle.

I have wanted to see a game like harvest moon (but many more jobs) for a while. At the start of shifting ages, I believe this is what I want to go for.

Don't get me wrong...when Shifting Ages is complete, I want about 50% of the game to getting stronger. But I also want other power. I want people to have power as nobility. I want people to have power as a respected member of a community. I would people to be a well known farmer. I want people to have political power, and to have social power.

I am tired of games where the sword and weapon power dominate. Shifting Ages will be different.

Just like life, only a few people will be able to become great warriors. But there will be so many other power positions, it does not matter...

I hope you all understand what I am saying. It is fun to destroy a monster, and I will have plenty of that, I promise. At release, I don't think I will though.

So once again, would you enjoy a world without battle, in the beginning, or do you think battle should be thought up before that. Keep in mind, if I did not do battle first, the other system would be extremely complicated, and would still be very fun.

Well, give me your votes, and post me your comments. Thank you.

Heh, yes, things like that.

Please do keep in mind, this is really a poll asking which I should work on first. Mainly because whichever I work on first will be the thing you will first know, for a long while. Also, after whatever it is I do make first is integrated, and activities concerning the area completed, I will submit, and once online I will perfect those areas.

Once I feel a great deal is done, I would begin in the battle system/or begin on the other system.

Once again, I just feel (like after seeing GK) that power of the sword is to great. People would really have many other powerful areas as well, and I hope to integrate all of that. It is hard to explain, but the warriors will get all the appreciate they should, and the others the same...

Yes, G2k1 in the beginning had no battle with enemies its entire time and really was very little focus and it was very popular. =)

Ditto G2K2

Well, I feel at the start for both of those, the systems were not developed to a extent nearly enough to what they should have been, but others may disagree.

Well, I think my decision is now supported enough to go through with it. Keep in mind, towns will still be fully developed, but various shops will be closed down, and various dungeons outside will be gaurded.

Also keep in mind, a battle system (a very unique, and comprehensive one) will still be integrated following the main developement of this world. This gives me time to really think out this system, as it will be a critical aspect.
